flights from the UK

When booking an indirect flight, what kind of connection time should I look for and what happens if your first flight lands late?

I have a mimimum of 90 mins outbound and 60 mins inbound, other people prefer more. If you have booked it all together they will get you on the next available flight. It has been known for them to hold a flight knowing a lot of UK travellers are going on it.

how do i fix my countdown clock?

Ask a 13 year old, like I do:rotfl2:
Have you been to a site and made a countdown? if not click on someones countdown you like it will take you to the site to make your own, at the end it will give you a code which you then put in your signature under your CP.
If you have done all that I am lost good luck

Luckily I managed to sort them out with One phone call. I already knew there was a flight with good connection time but they wanted me to accept the 45 mins. They lied saying there wasn't another for about 7 hours. I told them I was on their website and it was allowing me to book the one I wanted. They gave in eventually.

You must be more masterfull than me!!!
Like I said poor hubby took the phone call, aaggghhh, poor him, got it in the neck as well for his trouble. That was the whole trouble, gosh Im sorry, NO more moaning about expedia.
We went to kansas with nwa, changed 3 times each way, 2 hrs average wait, if you look at the web sites they usually say a reccomendation min time, if you allow less than that they will not accomodate you from late flights, we had 50 mins at one change and when we got to gate they had already gave our seats away! but they moved them into 1st class and we got our seats! Why did we not get upgraded?lol, for the record, NWA were brilliant.

Also this is funny, on one of the flights that was late, they announced could everybody that was not in a hurry please stay seated, ofcourse EVERYBODY stood up, it was hilarious:rotfl2: , even although we had to run our butts of and nealry missed the connection metioned above.
If you are easliy stressed leave more time, i am not but hubby is!

Do you have to collect your luggage from the first plane and then book it in again for the second, or is it done for you?

Flying with them for 1st time in Oct. Heathrow-Detroit-MCO 2hr:31mins change. Then coming home with Delta via Atlanta 1hr:20mins. Just booked it few days ago, £241 each Oct school hol. Booked it with Orbitz.com in $US, UK sites were nowhere near for price.

Usually its just collect them take to secuity and drop off, each airport is slightly different but just ask staff if you are not sure, its done 1000's of times a day so quite well organised.

Thats a top tip, we are going to La fingers crossed so will give them a look.

We used Opodo this year, flights are with Continental (cheaper than the official website) and we got a Continental booking reference within a few days which allows us to pre-request seats and check the specifics of our booking which is really handy. I thought we'd have to ask for it so i'm pleased with the service so far. We're flying indirect and in and out of different locations so touch wood that the flights go smoothly!!

Here's another thumbs down for Expedia

We have booked with them for our :santa: New York thanksgiving trip:santa: . They were by far the cheapest (booked in March £1000 for 5 nights including hotel for the both of us!).
DH didnt want to fly BA or go from Heathrow, so we booked American Airlines to JFK from Stansted (Just as close as Gatwick for us but need to fly into JFK as hotel will arrange pick up.)
Anyway a friend is booked on the same flights and last week asked if we had been mucked about the same as them. My reply was - what are you talking about??
They tell us that Ameican have now stopped flying from Stansted and we will have to fly from Heathrow - luckily we hadnt yet booked overnight hotel, but we had come v close.
Now the changes aren't really a problem BUT THE PROBLEM IS THEY DIDNT BOTHER TO TELL US ABOUT THE CHANGES!!!!!:scared1:  :scared1:
When we phoned them to check, they originally gave us the Stansted details and it took over an hour to get through to a supervisor who EVENTUALLY confirmed that our flight had been changed.
They did not seem to understand or care in the slightest that we would have turned up at Stansted to find our flight had gone 2 hours earlier from Heathrow!! And they were absolutely not interested in refunding any pre-trip hotel!!

So just a small precautionary tale about Expedia!!

They are pathetic, I used to nearly cry when i was on the phone to them, and I know what you mean about the hour long phone calls, it was soul destroying.
