Hey All,

Going to WDW from Dec 26 to Jan 1. What is the best time to book flights? I checked from Buffalo and Toronto, and the prices are crazy right now.....Southwest "wanna get away" fare say Sold Out already!?

Haven't been down at Christmas for a while, so wondering if some of you may know the best time to book!

TIA!

I have booked my xmas dates the last 3 years sept/oct. I have booked my resort just not flights.

Keep checking. Prices spike around 6 months out (so: now), but you will see deals pop up now and then - if you're comfortable with the price, jump on it. Don't forget to check flights to Tampa!

Sigh... the best time was probably last January. That said, I just booked my Xmas flights for visiting Grandma. They weren't great prices, but better than I expected. So, now might be a good time to lock that in.

I booked in April and the last time I checked (prob. about a month ago), the exact same flight was about $1400 more for the four of us. I don't know if they will come down over time, but it sure doesn't seem like a good time to book at the moment.

If you have a look at the Westjet website today, Toronto to Orlando, leaving Christmas time, coming back New Year time, it's $700 EACH WAY!
It's around $1400 round trip per person. About 2 months ago, they were $1000 per person.

$1400 used to be the airfare bringing you from Canada to Asia such as China and Hong Kong... Now it's only good enough for a 3 hour flight to the US :crazy2:

The January 1 flight will likely come down as you get closer to the date. You can usually get fairly good prices for Dec 31 and Jan 1 as many people do not want to travel on those days.

The Dec 26th likely will not drop as much. If you were willing to fly out on the 25th, even late on the 25th, I suspect those flights will drop more as you get closer to the date.

We are probably in the phase for that period where people are watching the prices and eventually give up and book, worried that the prices will only continue to climb.

The various search sites will let you set a notification. As the PPs said if you see something that you are comfortable with book it.

Also consider watching as one-way flights as the flights may not drop at the same time and you can lock in the better fare as soon as it is available. If you are not locked in to an airline you might find that one is better for one direction and another for the other.

Good luck
