Flights August 2009, how much?

I want to book OKW for next august but not all the flights are out for next year yet and i dont know how much they are likely to cost. The cheapest i can get at the moment is £3,000 for 2 adults, 2 children and an infant but was hoping to get it closer to £2000, am i dreaming? I have never booked separately before i normally book a package so no idea what to expect.

did you look at flights that aren't non-stop?
that is, ones where you have to fly via some city in the US and then change planes?

those routes are sometimes cheaper than the direct flights..
although it will be more difficult for you with 3 kids...
but it might be worth looking into..

I did think about it but we have 2 children under 4, a buggy and a car seat and i wont dare ask hubby
Thanks for the info though, i wouldn't rule out flying into somewhere else in Florida though, not sure where but if it saves a few £s

i just priced flights for june 2009 - it won't let me price for august yet..

i used www.kayak.com just to get an idea of the prices for next june...

virgin atlantic nonstop london-orlando was £359/person and BA nonstop was £389/person...

that's not too bad, though it's for june not august.....but the august rates aren't available on the website i used....but it gives you an idea...

We flew into Tampa it was a lot cheaper and then drove to Orlando however we did have to stop in Philidelphia, not sure if you can get direct to Tampa.

You'll have to wait until the 336 day mark before your return flight before flights/prices will become available.

As has been noted earlier, consider flying into Tampa (BA fly from LGW) or check Fly Zoom betwen LGW and Fort Lauderdale which may be cheaper than Orlando.

thanks, i will keep a look out. I dont mind where in Florida we fly to, it takes us 2 1/2 hrs to get to London and the boys dont mind that as long as they are direct flights

If you still haven't booked OKW for Aug 2009, we just have via Travel City Direct including DDP, car and direct flights to Sanford. Try them for a package or the adult flight price is £549 + £100 flight supplement (non w/e flight).

homas Cook Airlines are available for next August, as are all other charters - means flying into Sanford but will probabaly be cheaper.

We have got flights next August for £1875 - 2 adults, 1 child in Premium cabin from Gatwick.

Thanks, they worked out at £3,300 but that is with the car so definitely wont rule it out

Try ringing BA Holidays for a flydrive package as they will be able to quote into Aug 2009. We just booked for June at the £389 each price and didn't bother upgrading the 'Free' car or taking extra insurance (can get it cheaper elsewhere). These are from LGW direct into MCO - Tampa was no cheaper. The beauty of using the holiday company end was that we only had to pay £100 each deposit now, rather than the whole lot Just as well as I still have my visa bill to pay off as we only got back just over a week ago

We have just booked with globespan leaving on 18th August 2009 we have paid £1439 that includes 3 adult flights and car hire. I have flown with them before and they were fine not like Virgin but for that money couldnt say no.
