We bought our tickets in advance for early morning flights and late departures. Just recieved notification that our Dec. 11 flight was changed from 6:40 am to 8:50 am and checking our october flight just saw it was changed from 7:40 am to 8:40 am, with departure time changed from 7:45 pm to 6:05 pm. Whats the deal nobody wants to fly between 6 and 8 am:confused:  Just tired of all the changes and a little upset. These are probably not the worst things that can happen just hope they are still flying when the time comes.

I would check and see if they have any available flights for the times you want and if so call the airline and ask to be switched.
My flight on Northwest was first canceled so I picked a new time. Then that one had a time change so I switched to yet another flight. All this switching and it was done for free with my non-refundable ticket.
I just think airlines are tightening their belts and taking those early morning flights and canceling them. I myself prefer those times. The airport is quiet security lines are a breeze.

Good luck

I'm sorry, that can be sooo frustrating!!!:headache:

I'm curious, which airline is it?

It is still alive, but I'm waiting for the "other shoe to drop" as I keep hearing about other airlines cancellations. The thing that makes it worse is that if it does change, it'll probably be too late to adj our ADRs, rental cars, etc. Even the airport van now requires booking 2 weeks in advance. We understand that the airlines need to do this to survive, but must they wait until the last possible moment?

to the OP, is that the NWA 6:40 AM flight? We have it booked for April during spring break and I'm checking it daily (although we have a lot of time at this point).

the first flight at 6:40 am to 8:50am is with Northwest in December. The second flight is with Spirit in October.

Thanks. I'll keep checking. I did notice the 12:16PM departure on my date says "only 5 tickets left at this price" so I'm guessing that is selling better than the 6:40AM. I wouldn't mind leaving a little later although the airport gets more and more crowded as the morning goes on and we are leaving on a Monday! I wouldn't even mind coming home a little sooner (we are supposed to leave MCO at 6:55) because we all have school the next day. I just hope that if changes are made we leave a LITTLE later or come home a LITTLE sooner, nothing really major.
I was hoping because DTW is a hub that things would be a little stable. I'll just keep my fingers crossed!

Just talked with Spirit and they Changed my flight from 8:40 am Oct 22 to Oct 21 at 5:30 pm at no charge. We will have to change our car rental pickup and hotel but we gain a whole day at the world.:goodvibes :goodvibes

I spent last night on the phone with northwest. I was trying to change my flight to the day before on Dec 10 at 12:45 pm because we were loosing time at the world. The first 3 reps that I talked to said they would have to move my departure day also because that was their policy. when I talked to the 4 rep I explained that there was no earlier arrival time and I would like to move my departure from detroit to the day before, and since they changed the flight by over 2 hours they were responsible. she put me on hold and when she came back she said no problem. persistance pays off sometime. On our other flight on spirit it is only costing $47 more for car and hotel room, and this flight is about $70 more. All this for the max time at the world.
