flight tickets and postal strike

informed today that as strike on our flight tickets wont be dispached till mon at the earlyest .Fly in 2 weeks starting to get edgey at the least

Until I read your post I never even thought about the tickets. We fly out on 17th August (and are staying at SSR). When do you fly out? I can't see why they can't use those e tickets like easy jet use.

We are flying Virgin. What about you?

We fly on the 17th Aug too - from Manchester, and have not received any tickets yet. We're going with TCD - does anyone know when they send stuff out? My past experience in that travel agents send them out 10-14 days before - so I am expecting that again - any one any past experience with TCD?

Virgin don't use Royal Mail so the strike won't affect your tickets, they use UKMail which is cheaper, it takes about 4-5 days for them to arrive once posted.

were flying with mytravel,usaly we fly scheduled so we have e-tickets normaly.We will give them till next fri then we will panic,worst case sinario we pick up at airport.Fly on 17th as well

Although Virgin use UKMail, we (I work for Royal Mail) still deliver them, same as all the banks and other companys that use UKMail / TNT / Lynx / Buisiness Post etc etc.. All those companys do is pick the mail up from the sender and bring it to us, that is how they get it cheaper (13p an item)

royail mail r not my fave people, we had no post fri or sat last week, or wed thur this week, and im waiting on insurance money, that still has not come!!! and were on holiday tomorow, was hoping to get it b4 then they said posted on 24th!!....not a happy bunny.

Special Delivery is affected, but you should get it in 48 hours rather than the usual 24.

I also am not a happy bunny and I have worked for Royal Mail for 30 years !!
We are customers as well as employees and have mortgages and Disney trips to pay for, I myself am waiting on items arriving, but when you work with this company and see the way it's went over the last 5 years you would also take action............. sorry for the rant.

As there sent to a TA not us were unable to do this.Think mytravel (airtours)still in rochdale so would like to pick up, but as there contract is with ta unable to do this

We had our tickets arrive yesterday morning (Saturday). Mum had called Friday to see what would happen with the postal strikes and they said they had already sent them out, so they've been dispatched almost 3-weeks in advance. Anyway, the lady she spoke to said to call Monday morning if they still hadn't arrived (which is 2-weeks to go). Soooo glad they have arrived though! The bills I can wait for, Disney tickets I can NOT wait for. We're going Virgin, for anyone interested.

well TA phone and said good news tickets are here all 10 ,Bad news one has a mistake on it,and guess whos it is,yep mine .So there sending a newone out for me up to 5 days
