Bon-voyage have offered us 18 Dec 2003-2 Jan 2004 @ £419 direct with virgin does this sound good?
Also got Delta as a standyby, although non-direct (via Atlanta) for£369
I'm just trying to make sure there isn't something cheaper out there although i don't seem to be able to touch these prices with other companies!
Any comments??:)

For a holiday period they seem pretty fair prices IMHO. It's possible you'll pick up cheaper flights at a later date, but I doubt you'll find anything that's considerably lower, but it's also possible you won't match them or will not be able to get the direct option at such a good price. Depending on how set you are on dates etc, if you really want those dates and they are available, I think I'd book now and not look at flights costs again, at least that way you'll never know if they became cheaper ( ignorance is bliss in this situation LOL)

I've seen prices for the previous week a bit lower (around £370) but for that late in the month I would say they are pretty fair. Vernon's advice is very sound - book now and enjoy some peace of mind of a job already done!

I booked out tickets with www.opodo.co.uk

We got tickets with BA for £710 for 2 adults and 1 child. This was the total price. Although I wanted to go with Virgin this was the best price!

We are going 18th February.

Also try www.expedia.co.uk

Incidentally opodo also do flights with Virgin. I recommend that you try them.

Thanks
I tried opodo and expedia but they were only selling up to 6 dec 2003 and i had to let bon voyage know as they had three different flights on hold for me.
Finally decided to go for the virgin flights, ok they cost more money but i couldn't be bothered with the hassle of changing planes and hanging around for hours in Atlanta. Finally got the for £399 ad and £305 ch so not to bad for this time of year
Thanks again for the advice, many more questions to come!

Just as a matter of interest, I checked flight prices in the latter half of May (opodo, lastminute, expedia) and couldn't get anything under £600 (Virgin), with BA listing at £1,000-plus!!! My interpretation is the big carriers are cutting back on capacity and peak times are going to be seriously more expensive. Apparently, Florida bookings are down for the shoulder (off-peak) seasons, hence prices for February and October are so much better.

I think the 18th December is when the airlines jack up their prices for Christmas, so I think the price Bon-Voyage quoted is a pretty good deal.
