I've just been pricing up flights to Orlando for August 2010 and they're cheaper than the flights for 2009 which we booked last September. Can you tell me please if they tend to increase as the date gets nearer, in which case I ought to snap it up now, or do you think they're just cheaper because of the state of the economy, and if so, will the prices rise if the economy starts to recover?

What price you seen? I posted thread yesterday with some cheap August flights indirect for about £335, if they are what you have seen then book them, they will not be any cheaper.

Thanks Wayne! They're nowhere near as cheap as that but the prices for August 2010 are nearly £200 cheaper for 2 of us than the price for August 2009 using the same carrier and same airport. I was just wondering if the prices are likely to rise.

Who is it flying with I am looking at going next September and all the flights I have been looking at do not go as far as august.

Thank you

It's First Choice. We always fly with them because they're the only airline who fly from our local airport (East Midlands) direct to Orlando (Sanford).

Thanks for that East Mids is my local airport so that’s good to know thank you! :thumbsup2

Thanks a lot my budget is £800 any idea how I can get the price down. This is next Aug 30th – 20th sep?
Is it worth waiting.

Change the date by a week got it down to £858 Thanks a lot i think thats a fab price :thumbsup2 Oppps Just added on sitting together and baggage and its up to 968.00

Wow! That's brilliant! I'm really pleased for you. I assume you've moved the dates forward into September? Trouble is my DH is a teacher so we have no choice but to go in August. Good for you though!

Sorry I have no real experience with the charter flights, I constantly watch scheduled. For August I have a £500 limit direct and £400 indirect.
I would not know, have you checked this year same dates to compare only being a few week away if no dearer then I would not rush in.

You could try waiting, but be grateful - we're paying more than £500 more than that for the "privilege" of flying three weeks earlier!

I know with our packaged holidays with Virgin and when we book 12+ months in advance it is always cheaper than the prices closer to the time.

Thank you - that's very helpful. I just remember once booking tickets to Alaska and they got a lot lot cheaper as the date approached but I'm thinking that, as the prices to Orlando are £200 cheaper for 2010 than they were for 2009, I should get them now! There's only 1 flight a week from East Midlands and it takes package holidays as well so as it fills up the price for flight only is likely to rise rather than come down. It just seems crazy to book before we've even had this year's holiday!

Hmmm am worried about this now. I was planning on booking with Disney direct minus the flights. I thought it was a good price but if flights are coming in that expensive, maybe I would be better looking for a package. I plan on going Sept 2010 too.

As far as I know "flights only" are more expensive but I believe also that if you book "flights included" with Disney UK the price skyrockets.eg: 2 weeks at OKW with free dining for 2010 is £1870 booked via Disney UK but exactly the same package with flights included is £5050.

You see TCD were doing a great deal, but their quote included car hire which is useless to me and I don't want to pay for something I won't use. They included virgin flights but not the park tickets, which I found strange as I always thought you couldn't purchase the DDP if you didn't purchase the park tickets...Anyone?
