Would any of you mind sharing how much you paid for flight only prices for this October incorporating the week before and half term

I just wanted some idea of whether DIY is really worth it

Many thanks

Janet

Flying Fri 14th back 29th october with US airways from manchester. Indirect but good flight times - one stop at philadelphia.

Flights were £1540 2 adults and 1 child. Booked 11 months out day flights were released. Sat 15th was the same price. Continental were also the same pricing.

Virgin atlantic wanted £1000 more so £2500 for direct on the day flights were released.

I actually booked with thomas cook online as they were the same price as booking direct with the airline and you saved another 10% if you booked flights and accomodation so just under £1400 with the discount.

Not October but hopefully it'll give you some perspective:

We're going on September 9th and returning on September 27th. We paid £550 per adult (Virgin M+M).

Hi there! Leaving 24th oct till 7th nov
£548 per adult, from gatwick.

Hope you get a good deal!

Our flights were £775 each (including PE £200)

26th Sept - 10th Oct 2011 Birmingham - Sanford Thomson Fly.

Were booked about a year ago, (day flight were released)

Booked with charter travel for 18/10/2012 ,14 night flydrive with 7 seater minivan and full car insurance.
£3664 for 4 adults and 1 child.
VH were around £500 dearer when i last looked.

Flying continental from Edinburgh via Newark 5th- 22nd Oct - £554 but booked when flights were released.

we booked the day the flights were released.
oct 17th-oct 29th £540 flying indirect with continental from manchester.
tracy

just a thought but try monarch.co.uk 4-6 weeks before you fly they have really good deals!! we priced 3 weeks ago to go at the end of june for 6 (2 adults 4 children) car hire and comfort inn for 2600!!!!

Flights 24th Sept - 9th Oct
Newcaslte (23rd)-Gatwick(24th)-Orlando Premium Economy £1290 Per Adult

We are going 1st to 15th october Edinburgh to dublin and then on to MCO. We were £540 each with Aerlingus. We only booked them in march so it would have been much less if we had booked on the day of release like a pp has already said, Still weirdly cheaper than last year.

Personally we have found DIY is cheaper for us. The only downside is having to pay for flights in full at the time of booking.

Like someone else here we are also flying 24th Oct to 7th Nov.

Our flights were £3800 for 7 of us - so £543 each. We booked on 8th December 2010.

Ours were around the £480 per person mark in late Oct but that was with airmiles with Virgin
