Flight prices from DTW in February...

I've started watching airline prices for our upcoming trip to WDW in February. Right now, Spirit is quoting me about $238 pp for rt, non-stop. NWA, for a rt, non-stop is $425. I'm thinking that I have plenty of time and should just keep watching.

Am I on the right track or does anyone else think I should book now? Also, these are the two airlines I'm most familiar with. Does anyone know if I might do better on another airline? We have a 4 and 6 year old so I really prefer to get non-stops.

Thanks!

Hi there! I don't know about DTW...I will fly out of NY somewhere (albany, syracuse, or newburg). I am definitely waiting. I, too, have been watching prices. I am not willing to buy seats unless they are under $200 (taxes, fees included). If I can't get them for that, I will be forced (YUCK!!) to drive.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed for something good from Jetblue, SW or SE, maybe even TMA. We shall see....

Good luck!

You are right about waiting. We have tickets for Spirit out of Detroit for $68 each way for December and $39 each way for Aug 19. Keep checking the website every day and you will find a deal.

You may want to check SWA when their schedules come out. Only drawback it that SWA does NOT fly non-stop out of DTW. Right now NWA is showing a high price, but once SWA posts it's schedule, NWA may come down a bit.

I'm waiting. I have reservations at Portofino Bay at Universal for Presidents' Week, but I'm waiting to make the flight arrangements. Last year we went SWA, stopped in St. Louis - no plane change. It isn't my first choice to make a stop. It's really hard to pay the big$$$ when you see these flights for $39 out of Detroit (which Northwest Airlines was matching by the way).

$238 isn't bad, but you might want to wait.

It's a hard call - could be higher than $238!!

Good luck!

hey thanks everyone for the tips! I think I will wait and see what happens. Sounds like the deals may get better.

Thanks again!

Deb,
You might want to consider flying out of Flint. Northwest and AirTran offer non-stop service and it's great. It's a very nice airport with convenient parking and NO crowds. We have friends from Rochester Hills who drive to Flint to fly to Orlando. Watch both NW & AirTran.com and you can catch great sales. I recently booked round-trip, via AirTran for $136/pp.(inc. tax, etc.) for our late Sept. trip to Disney.:earsgirl:

I suggest you try Air Tran also, I live in Clarkston and always seem to get good rates with Air Tran and their non-stop flights are at really good times for me.
