Hi, we're not planning our next trip until 2013, but I'm trying to get a rough idea of what we will be booking now.

We're hoping to be able to stay for roughly 3 weeks. We live in the south and only want direct flights. Will Virgin & BA be my only options or are there other airlines where you can book fairly flexible dates?

Could you just confirm if you mean 2 or 3 weeks? Charter flights are available but they fly into Sandford airport - scheduled flights go into Orlando.

Ideally it will be 3 weeks. We don't mind where we fly into, MCO, Sandford or MCO.

We aren't down south we're in Newcastle but we are going for 5 weeks this August and are flying with Thomson booked through First Choice. You can book any length of flight only holiday with the charters but it has to fit in with their flying dates so we have to go for 5 full weeks - last time we went 27 nights with Virgin! We did have to ring up to get a price as you can't book for longer stays on their website,

Thank you, that's really helpful, it's good to know that we'll have more options.

5 weeks will be brilliant, I bet you can't wait.

Thomas cook also do a charter flight and Continental does a scheduled flight with a stop in New York.
KLM/AirFrance also fly out but the flights are really legnthy due to stops in Europe.
BA also flys into Tampa and Miami which can be cheaper than MCO. It takes a little over and hour to drive to Orlando from Tampa.
We have opted for a Direct flight from Glasgow this year with Virgin, but have flown with Thomas Cook and BA in the past. If you go with Thomas Cook I would upgrade to premium economy as the economy section is a real squeeze

Thanks for the tip about Thomas Cook, my husband is 6'1 and he just about fits into Economy on Virgin.
