Flight of Passage to Hoop De Doo timing

Hi all:

Quick question regarding timing/travel between what are probably the two farthest away points from each other at WDW! During the busy holiday week, we have a 2:20-3:20 Flight of Passage FP, and a 4:00 Hoop De Doo ressie the same day. Do you think we could get to Hoop De Doo in time after our Fastpass time or are we cutting it too close? We would use Minnie Vans to get dropped off right at Hoop De Doo.

My guesstimate is using FP it'll take 30 minutes to get through FoP, 20 minutes to walk to the Minnie Van pickup, then a 20 minute drive to Hoop De Doo, which gets us there at 3:30 and gives us a half hour of wiggle-room. Are those estimates reasonable, or is that too aggressive?

Unfortunately I can't change either time. Thanks for any thoughts!

That seems a little aggressive IMO. There are a lot of variables in there - whether a Minnie Van is available right away, whether you get right to FOP at 2:20pm, etc etc. It's probably do-able but would be way too much stress for this cat.

Let's say you get in at 2:15. It will still be 2:30-2:40 before you even start the ride with the two preflight videos and time it takes to secure the seats. So let's say you're off at 3 and at the park gate by 3:15. Its doable, but very tight! You'd want to call the Minnie Van while walking to the front so they are waiting when you get there. Luckily they can get you pretty close to HDD.

I'm 100% sure we'll be able to get there at 2:15 on the dot. Good idea to call the Minnie Van during the walk. Of the 15(!) of us with FPs, 14 are fast walkers but one is not, another consideration.

It does mean we'll need three Minnie Vans as well - I don't know what availability is like. Haven't done the Minnie Van thing before.

I'll probably leave it up to our group - some people may just decide to pass on FoP (last FP of the day) and take it easy that afternoon before Hoop De Doo. Is 45 minutes start-to-finish for FoP with Fastpass a more reasonable estimate than my 30 minute guess? If so then this does get kind of tight.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I think you’ll generally be OK. IF everything goes right. :-)

Don’t hesitate to quickly pull the plug on Minnie Van and do Uber/Lyft (and deal with the internal bus at FW) if you have to.

Fingers crossed! 🤞 Good idea to switch to Uber/Lyft if the Minnie Van situation looks dire.

I would have said you'll be fine until I saw your comment that it is for 15 people! So you would need 3 Minnie Vans. I would be surprised if you could get 3 of them that quickly.

One other possible option -- one that would likely work better with fewer people, but might still be okay with 15 -- is to go to the FP entry at FoP about 2:00. Or heck, even 1:45. With a big smile, and no expectation, explain the situation to the cast members there. They may allow you early entry, since you DO have FP, they are just for a bit later than would work ideally with your schedule. If they cannot accommodate, thank them for the consideration, and come back at 2:15 (or hang out until 2:15 -- again, if there is a lull, it would not surprise me if they wave you through).

Thanks for the suggestion. I was wondering about how easy it is to get multiple Minnie Vans at once.

Asking politely for a little pixie dust is a really nice idea. I don't want to be "that guy" who holds up the line or demands special attention, but politely asking is probably in my comfort zone.

Worst case we'll just hang around Pandora for 30 minutes and we'll book our Minnie Vans the second we get off FoP.
