Can I get some flight company recommendations please! We have previously only ever flown with Virgin to Florida but this time I am trying to keep costs right down. My cousin found flights with thomas cook but I looked for reviews and they do not look good? So any advice or personal experiences would be gratefully received! :flower3:

we flew with tc last march and had no probs.:)

we prefer va also, like the choices for movies, music etc and dd check in is very handy-however we have found prices for next august too pricey and have booked with tc. :goodvibes

What was the leg room like on Thomas Cook? My Dad is not only quite tall he is also quite large. How does it compare with Virgin? (I am aware virgin are not the best leg room but he has flown with them and been comfortable)

seats and leg room-all fine-not cramped at all.

flight attendants were pleasant enough, and flight itself was great-even arrived a bit ahead of time :goodvibes

That is another one of my concerns because we have always flown into Orlando int. Argh too much to think about this time! :confused3

sanford airport was quick through customs-much speedier than going on the "monorail" at orlando and collecting baggage :)

drive from airport obviously longer, but not bad at all-no traffic probs.

sfb versus mco-no winner/no loser as long as we're there! :rotfl:

All of the airlines are pretty much the same. Pick a price, then go with whoever offers the flights at that price. I would then choose by airport (we prefer LHR to MCO) and then by flight times.

Like others, we tend to avoid charter airlines to Sanford as we don't rent a car. MCO offers more public transport options, plus DME if you're staying onsite. Cab fares to the tourist areas are also significantly cheaper.

Thank you everyone :) I think we are going to go with the deal we found with Thomas Cook, there seat pitch is 33inches so I think that will be ok. I am sure sanford will be fine although now that you mention the monorail at Orlando (I had forgotten about it) I feel gutted my kids wont be experiencing it :rotfl2:

Think we are going to stay at Clarion LBV has anyone been there? We went there when it was a holiday inn I think?

We flew into Sanford last Sept - 35 minutes from landing to being IN the car !!! How amazing is that!!!!
Needless to say We were soo surprised at how quick & easy it was.

We would definitely fly into Sanford again.
