Hi.

Can I have two flights on the same day same departure/arrival, same name.

Thank you.

Possibly, it depends on the airline. Some of them are better than others at sniffing those out. Usual advice is to make the Primary reservation on your preferred airline and your backup on a different one. There is no discussion between the airlines about who is flying when. WN will Cancel both bookings, Delta will cancel whatever one was made second, at least according to what I've read.

Yikes. Thanks. I just booked my husband on an earlier flight since we are not sure what flight he can get. I figured for $38 Id just loose and have him on my flight if he could. It is United. Wonder if I should call or hope for the best.

I just called United and the two agents I spoke to said there would only be a conflict if I had two tickets on the same time/flight.

My husband’s tickets are for two different times so I am hoping they do not cancel has anyone done this.

Does anyone have any conflicting information regarding what I was told?

Thank you.

My cousin and I have the exact same first and last name. We've flown together many times. I also have other stories to tell you about the look on the TSA agents face when we go through security

Thanks. They canceled my husband’s first flight today. I called and kept the later flight and instead if the credit they issued I asked to have it credited back to my credit card. I think a mistake I made was using his United number on both ressies. Could I make a ressie with just his first initial?

PP gave you the answer, book with 2 different carriers. You have to give information necessary for secure flight (TSA pre-screening). That should be enough for the airline to flag reservations, if they want to. You want to check the "fine print"....Some airlines call it speculative bookings. You have 2 reservations and can't physically take both flights.

Unless something has changed, double bookings are canceled in the system when showing up between two carriers. Are there any unique identifiers in the names for one that can be used on the reservation (middle name)?
