flight attendant discount?

Yeah, I got a great rate for Sept. $181 a night for the POLY. It would have been much cheaper to do a mod. or value. As little as $360 for the week in a value. Good Luck!

When did you get this? Was it recent? I never see the Poly getting a discount for travel or airline employees. We are going in June and could only get discount on Beach Club. We have been to YC several times and really wanted to stay at the Poly this trip. Now we are considering a quick trip (just 4 days) in September to take advantage of the free dinning. May consider changing that if we can get the Poly for $181. Will need to check into this further. Jay

The $181 rate is for this upcoming Sept. 18-25. It is for a GV room, but all room view types are available. Good Luck.

Thanks, good to know. Did you book this recently? If we go in September we would probably stay at CSR because friends are staying there as well. Also, we would be able to take advantage of the free dinning. But the Poly is our favorite and we love going there. We did not use the travel employee discount for our June trip (used AAA) because we wanted the Poly so bad this trip. Anyway, thanks for the information. Jay

I checked as recently as last week, we added some nights at AKL. Also, just so you know CSR is not available during most of Sept, I already checked. I guess you're probably doing free dinning though and don't need the travel discount. Have a great trip. We are doing half free dinning half POLY and AKL. We can never satisfy everyone.

I expect to receive my IATA card in the next couple of weeks.

I'm also planning a trip to Florida in late Oct for a fly/drive starting off in MIA, renting a car, doing the Keys, the driving to Orlando for about four nights. From there, we're driving to St. Augustine and dropping off the rental in JAX before returning to ORD.

My girlfriend and I are WDW College Program alum, and we both have a very soft spot in our hearts for the Mouse.

I was planning on hitting up Priceline for $40 somewhere in LBV like we've done the past few years, usually something bites, but if I can get something like the Poly for three nights at $181/nt, that would be wonderful... not to mention a huge surprise for my girlfriend!

Here's my question - apparently you have to "qualify" to get discounts at Disney with the IATA card. I work as an Operations Coordinator for Abercrombie & Kent, and we're not the kind of tour operator that does Disney, at least not stateside. Besides, most millionaires don't book Disney through us anyway, even if they try to make the stop while in France and doing a barge tour.

So, do you have to be an actively booking agent with a set number of sales? Or will any IATA card number get you in the door?

I do miss my old Disney Cast Member discount, and I might even know someone that can Main Gate me in, but the hotel, I'm on my own for.

Any and all help is appreciated - this thread alone has been a huge help! Thanks!

We are staying at the Yacht Club in October for around $170 a night. We have used the discount at Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary and Beach Club. It cannot be beat.

Plus we usually travel with a retired airline employee as well as an active employee - so we can get 4 rooms at the great rate.

In June, we could not get any discount and paid $122 a night at POP - which in my opinion is the worst hotel ever.

We bought the free dining package, then used the discount for three nights, and going to extend our park tickets to cover the extra days. Can scertainly thin out the dining plan for those days. Mostly snack for lunch and breakfast anyway. Just thought I give someone a good idea..What a deal. 11 days 10 nights with 7 days free dining and tickets at a mod for under 2100.00!!!:cool1:

Remember your free dining plan credits expire on midnight the day your free dining package ends. You won't be able to 'thin' them out after that. Plan accordingly!

We are eligible for the IATA discount but the free dining is a better deal at Pop. Have fun!

Yes we thought of that. Plan on enjoying character meals and bigger meals first six or seven days. Then use credits for extra snacks purchased in advance for the last couple of days. Figure on OP for maybe three dinners or luches.

Can anyone hazzard a guess as to when 2008 IATA rates will become available? We have booked a "room only" and will have to call back to get the rate applied. I have heard that they won't be out until a couple of weeks after they announce regular rates - at the same time AAA rates come out.

Can anyone confirm or refute this? We're lining up "back up" resorts in case we can't get the IATA rate at our first choice, but we want to be vigilant. Wish us luck!
