Hi all.

Our SW flight arrives at 9:35 pm and I am wondering if we should use the luggage tags for our luggage to be picked up and delivered by Disney. I know they say if you come in after 10 pm to pick it up yourselves. Anyone gotten in around that time and can give me some advice on which way to go. Would love to not have to wait for luggage. Don't mind waiting to get the luggage in the evening, just more worried it won't get to us at all:scared1:

We have never done it but will be arriving at 8:45 and plan to use it. We figure by the time we get to the hotel check in, grab a bite to eat, they will be in the room. We may put the kids pj in the carry on.

Use the luggage tags. Use the luggage tags. Use the luggage tags.

If something happens and your flight ends up arriving after 10 PM, go to luggage pickup and grab your own bags. They'll be there. Otherwise (i.e. if you arrive on time, or close to it), let Disney handle your luggage.

Over ten million Guests have used DME since its inception; possibly ONE Guest's luggage was permanently lost - at least based on what we've seen online and know from experience - and even that would more likely be attributed to the airline than to Magical Express. Plus, if you use the luggage tags and your luggage is delayed, DME acts as your agent in tracking and delivering it when it shows up. Without the tags, you end up spending much additional/unnecessary time in the airport, filling out forms.

To reiterate, it is a good idea to put stuff you need for the first 24 hours in a carry-on. Things like toothpaste, swimsuit. Also all valuables and medicines.

Once at the carousel, if you don't find your bags, file a claim with the airline before leaving the area, even if it was very close to 10:00:00 PM.

Thank you. I think I will follow this advice and make sure we use the tags. We can then check to see if we need to go pick up our luggage. I assume I can ask the DME people if we should go back and get our luggage. I just am confused that is we have the tags and we arrive later than 10pm will our luggage go on the carousels or not?

I don't think any of us know if the employees that grab DME luggage off the tarmac clock out at 1Op or if they work long enough to handle flights that arrive a few minutes late. Likewise we don't know when the last luggage truck leaves MCO. I don't know if they hold the truck long enough to accomodate bags that arrive a few minutes after 10p.

I don't think I'd grab my luggage (SW) and schelp it over to the DME desk. You have to go back up to level three and walk to the opposite corner of MCO then go down to level one. Easier to take a taxi or car service.

It will at first, because there are no CMs working after 10 PM to pull luggage behind the scenes. Any such luggage will then be stored in the airline's unclaimed luggage area until the next morning - when DME CMs are on duty and will claim it and send it off to be sorted.

We come in at 7:40 and will be using it as well. I was told to pack everything we'd need for the rest of the evening in our carry on bag because they will not even send your luggage until you CHECK IN with your resort! So we plan on taking pjs, bathroom stuff and most importantly...swim suites!!!!! I'm heading for the pool and hot tub after we eat!

Last two trips we've arrived around 9:30PM and used our DME luggage tags. I packed a small overnight bag as a carryon. I wanted to get to sleep once we arrived at the resort and didn't really want our bags delivered to our room until the next morning. The first trip, that's what happened. I don't remember asking them to do that, but maybe I did, because the next trip they delivered them at about 11:30 on the night of our arrival. So if you have what you need for the night and you want them to wait until morning to bring your bags to your room, be sure to mention it when you check in. We've used DME many times at various times of day and never had an issue with our luggage.

I kinda (actually highly) doubt this one because it both adds complexity to the process and lengthens the average airport to room delivery timeframe.

As far as not claiming your bags after 10 PM, this does constitute non-following of instructions and could result in non-entertainment of baggage claims at the resort if something very bad happens.
