Flex Pass Superthread: Disneyland Resort Introduces New Annual Passport that Combines Value and Flexibility

Have any signature or signature plus Passholders renewed down to the Flex pass? I heard if you do you can keep your parking for $250. I just want to make sure that is true. I might be interested in the flex pass next year when I renew depending on how fast reservations fill up.
I wondered about this, too, but after adding up the cost of the pass, plus MP, plus parking... it wasn't such a deal in the end.

Hmmmmm that is interesting.

I guess you would save $300 over the course of the year going from Sig to Flex. Might not be a bargain if enough people get the Flex pass that you can’t go when you want to.

Hmmm didn't think about that. I'm just getting ideas. I'm preparing for the worst in the winter when they normally increase prices. Sig + is already 1399 I'm scared to think what they would raise it to lol.

That's the big question for a lot of people, isn't it? Right now when not that many people have this pass, reservations aren't that hard to get. But what about later in the year when I'm locked into the pass and many more people buy it, too? Hmmm... decisions, decisions!

That's why I've been following this thread. I don't know anyone with the flex pass personally so I can't get any insider knowledge on it. My sig + pass has spoiled me. I never check the blockout calendar I just go LOL. I would have to remember to make a reservation before just showing up.

I’m soooooo worried everyone and their mother is going to get a Flex Pass when their other passes are up and reservations will be difficult to get. The signature plus would really stretch our budget.

We got the Flex Pass when they first started. My plan is to always be on when the 30 day window opens up to get reservations for the dates we want. If I get on and can't get a reservation for 30 days out then my thinking is I probably don't want to be there during that time anyway and I will wait for another day. We have already used our pass for two trips one of them we ended up staying for extra days because the park was so empty. It has been great for us. I am sure as more people get them reservations will be harder to get but for the price we paid it has been totally worth it so far. I am hoping to get three more trips out of them and maybe more if flights work in our favor. Trying to avoid driving down there if at all possible.

This may have been asked, but I can't find it. What if you have 2 linked passes? Do they share a reservation or do you get to link the individual reservations. i.e. if you reserve and link on one pass, does that negate the ability to reserve on the second pass?

I have two passes linked to my account. When I go to make a reservation I see both names and can check either or both. The only thing you can't do is select/reserve more than one day at a time.

Loving our Flex pass! Just booked a reservation for Sat 8/24 ... the "sold out" D23 Expo day. Our plan: arrive Thursday; purchase tickets for Fri & Sun; visit the parks on Sat. (All because I refused to pay the "handling" fees on pre-purchase, discounted tickets. Arg.)

Don't you run the chance of any day selling out?

I booked Saturday to visit after our day in the expo. I also am planning to make a reservation for the Sunday of the expo tomorrow.

We bought two day tickets, is it possible to upgrade those to Flex Pass? We live in Nor Cal but plan to go at least twice more in the next year. I’ve never been an AP at Disneyland because I didn’t think I would save any money, but it turns out we might with Flex Pass. I would be ok waiting to see when I can get tickets, and then booking at last minute trip 30 days out.

Yes, you can use those tickets to upgrade to an annual pass, just do it before the ticket booths close. I purchased the FP but haven't used it yet. I'm going to DL for the Haunted Mansion and Halloween Party events so just may wait until next year to activate. My daughter is busy with grad school which is something I didn't think of before purchasing. If Disney increases the prices of their AP's, that won't affect the passes I already purchased which is good. It kind of feels weird to be paying monthly payments on something that I'm not using though. LOL

We have used our Flex Passes several times this summer. Each time I was able to make new reservations for my husband, daughter, and I right after I entered the park.

Just came on to second this. DF and I took two five-day trips to the park this summer. With the exception of July 4 documented on this thread, we had no problem making reservations for any day within the 30-day advance window or making reservations for additional days the moment we were scanned into either one of the parks.

The July 4 blockout I overcame at 10 p.m. the night before, literally right after fireworks. I had already secured a res for CA two days prior--which was what was so strange about the July 4 blockout for DL being lifted for just 15 minutes July 3.

It's still a mystery how Disney is determining capacity for these FP "reservation only" days, but I had been refreshing the calendar in the app every day for 30 days out. CA was ALWAYS available July 4. Only DL was blocked out, and it was blocked out consistently, right up to the day before.

Expo Tickets? Yes, I am taking that risk. But I was too angry about their stupid nuisance fees to allow myself to purchase in advance. The fees were, in my view, “simply because we can.” So, I said, “No.”
I feel the same. I only wanted Friday and Saturday tickets, but their system was charging fees for every seperate day. I ended up buying all three days because it ended up being a ~$10 difference for all days compared to the two. (Three days counted as one fee and two separate days counted as two fees)

Hi everyone! So we have a flex pass and want to go back to DL over Labor Day weekend. Usually we book two days and have no issues booking the third day once we scan in the first reservation. However I’m concerned Labor Day reservations may be booked. So would you book Saturday and Sunday and hope Monday doesn’t fill or would you book Sunday and Monday? Thoughts? We are DL newbies! Thanks!
