I was disappointed in Fleet Feet. All they did was measure our foot and bring out sneakers. I had to point out that I overpronate. I did find a nice pair of New Balances but they were $130. I told the sales person I needed to sleep on it. He wrote down the shoe model for me. I feel kind of guilty but I came home and went to the NB website and found a pair on sale that were one grade up and were on sale for $99. Plus 10% off and free shipping. can't wait to get them and break them in for Disney!

Funny, I am literally in the car leaving a Fleet Feet where we had a great experience. They are a franchise, so I guess it just depends on the franchise owner. This store measure me both sitting and standing. Had me walk to watch my walking gait then had me run outside to watch my running gait. I ended up with the ugliest pair of shoes possible, but they feel sooo good. Gonna break them in tonight. I have to run a 5k at race pace as part of my half-training.

It stinks that the employees were not so helpful. Fleet Feet has a huge following in my area as they are publicly active with run groups, race sponsership etc. I would be shocked to hear of less than stellar service at any of the locations nearby.

If you like New Balance shoes, try Joe's New Balance Discount website. They carry both current and last years shoes. I loved the pair I bought from Fleet Feet last year and was able to find the same ones at this website for $75 less!

That is what they are suppose to do. And if they don't I certainly wouldn't feel guilty for not paying their prices.

I generally buy at least the first pair from the store that fits me. Now after that...

I agree. We have a few locally owned running stores. One is awful. They pretty much just ask what you're currently running in then point at similar shoes on their wall. I was so disappointed when I asked what the difference is in the current model of shoes I was running in from the previous model. They only told me the cosmetic difference instead of mentioning the difference in weight and sole. I've decided they will only get my business if there is a spectacular sale on the shoes I wear.
