Hi everyone!! I was wondering if any of you are familiar with the Flea Market on the 192? I haven't been there in years, and my mom mentioned that we should go check it out...any thoughts from someone who may have been there more recently??

Is taht the one next to the huge Orange? If so I was there in June. A lot of stuff...most of it junk. But they did have good deals on Disney shirts, towels, cups, stickers etc. Not worth the taxi fare over there in my opinion. i know there is another one in town. I forget where - maybe check that one out if you can.

I love flea markets!!! I have not been to this one. If you do go please post a review of it. I'd be interested in knowing if there is variety there or mostly touristy items that you can get at any of the souviner shops along 192.

I've been to the "orange" one on 192. Mostly junk. DH got a good deal on a leather wallet. DS got a good deal on miscut Pokemon cards. Most of the other stuff was available cheaper at the tourist shops. Just becareful a lot of the sellers in there will take advantage of you in a heartbeat.

There are at least 2 Flea Markets on 192. Maybe 3, if you want to drive farther into Kissimmee. They are basically the same, some deals, some junk.

Thanks for all of your responses!! This is the flea market in question...is this the one you guys were thinking about??

I never go to flea markets because they are mostly vendors who buy cheap junk and sell it to people who think they're getting a deal. I love things like thrift stores and yard sales.

Even pawn shops are fun sometimes. We collect musical instruments and have found a few at these.

Any suggestions on good thrift stores in the area?

Thanks,

Sheila

If your up for a drive there is a awesome flea market in Webster, Florida...it only takes place on Mondays though and you better be ready to get up early because it only lasts from like 8 am til noon!!!

Hi, we are kind of Flea Market junkies the 3 months we are down there...A "true" Flea Market is usually just week ends (Fri, Sat, Sun) or the biggie at Webster mentioned above which is the only show in town on Monday. And by the way, cars start arriving at 6AM and many vendors are open by 6AM at Webster and it is almost totoally shut down by 2:30 or so.
This is a four hour tour just to see the whole flea market and that is moving quickly!!!

If you want to do a "true" flea Market for about a half day, take 192 east for about 10 miles and a mile or so after going under the Turnpike look for a big pink sign that say Osceola Flea Market and turn left. It is still a lot of junk but a true fun flea Market with Kareoke, greasy food, and lots of booths.

For a true full day adventure on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, take toll 429 north all the way to the end at 441. Follow 441 to Mt Dora (wonderful little historic town with great restaurants downtown after your flea market experience). Stay on 441 north to Renninger's. It has two huge sales areas, one for flea market stuff and one that is all antiques and lots of them. Trip from Disney area is no more than 35-40 minutes once on 429 toll road. Google Renninger's and they have a web site...http://www.renningers.com/

Enjoy!! Ted
