Flavors of Fun - A Food-Filled Dining Report (with pictures!!)

Fabulous updates - I love that Grey Goose Slushie in France - yummy ;)

I'm really happy they have it all of the time and not just at Food & Wine!

Pecos Bill's has MUSHROOMS???? Updating my lunch list now. Seeing all of the F&W foods is making me really hungry. Wonder how I can fit all of that into my Thanksgiving menu without anyone noticing. Great review!

If you are making any F&W foods for Thanksgiving I'm coming over!

I love the hat!

I think it is most fitting after a day of sampling around the "world"!

Yes! It can be my Food Exploration hat!

Loving the reviews!!! Man, if i didn't want to go to the Food and WIne Fest already..you would have sold it to me!! SO much yummy goodness !!! :goodvibes

So glad you are enjoying the reviews!

After our long day of eating and drinking we woke up bright and early and went to Animal Kingdom! We got there as the park was opening and headed straight to Tusker House. There was a long line to check in and then we were given a buzzer and waited outside. We really shouldn't have been hungry but we could smell the food coming from the restaurant and we were ready for Breakfast!!

We waited for a little bit, not too much after our reservation time and we headed inside for the buffet!

Here is EE's first plate:

Looks like she had some bobotie, biscuits and gravy, potato/leek frittata, potatoes, sausage.... it looks really good!!

Here is PP's first plate:

Looks like he has some biscuits and gravy too, along with a frittata, cheese blintz, ham, and a few other items that are hidden.

My first plate:

I was super excited about the Tater Tots! I also had the bobotie, quiche, frittata, corn beef hash, and some polenta-like substance that I forget the name of. It was all really good! I am not a huge fan of breakfast food, so I loved all of the different options they had!

Here is JE's first plate:

He got so much bacon that even our server made fun of him!

Then we all got our 2nd plates!

Here is mine:

Kind of pitiful... but I really wanted cheese and more of that polenta stuff, and then there is bread with some sort of vegetable cream cheese on top. All very yummy!

PP's 2nd plate:

EE's 2nd plate:

We didn't take a picture of JE's 2nd plate, but I'm sure it featured bacon!

Then PP and JE got plates of dessert for everyone to share. Here is his plate:

Not sure what everything is since I did not eat any of the desserts, but I'm sure EE can help fill us in!

Oh! I forgot to mention that this was a Character Meal!! I like to go to one character meal every year so I get a chance to see my favorites! This breakfast had Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy! The character interaction was great! Even though we were a table of adults, they stopped and took pictures with us and were very nice!

Overall I think the food was great and the character interaction was perfect! We had a very bizarre server but he brought us our juice and coffee when we needed it, so we can't really complain!

Up Next: Lunch at Goofy's Candy Company!

On the left of PP's dessert plate was Tusker House's bread pudding and he got that for me and it was fabulous as always. Here's the thing I don't like bread pudding but here at the Tusker House it is so good!! This was my first time at Tusker House for breakfast and I loved it. It is kinda Boma light but it's still delicious and the characters were great!! The breakfast potatoes are out of sight! Tusker House is now a favorite for breakfast lunch and dinner :)

Great job SS!!!!! Keep up the awesome jobe and you and JE get back here so we can do more eating.

Here is JE's first plate:

He got so much bacon that even our server made fun of him!

This is probably what my DH's plate (or plates:) ) will look like @ Tusker House! He is a major bacon head. I'm talking a pound by himself at one sitting! These pics really make me glad that this will be our first "actual" Disney meal during our trip. We will be eating there on Thanksgiving morning! Thanks for the great pics!

The eggroll cart is located in Adventureland between the Treehouse and the Jungle Cruise.

Woohoo! Thanks for this little tidbit. I'm thinking DH and I will be stopping by here for sure!

The F&W review looks amazing! I'm thinking it's quite a feat to hit all of those on the same day. I :worship: to your gastronomic abilities!

Your report is great! Everything looks delicious. Do you remember the approximate price of the individual items? I'm going to the F&W next year and was wondering how much the food cost. Thanks.

Ok, so I had been looing forward to the Mouse Catch ever since I heard that it was going to be a booth! I am a cheese freak so of course I got all three!

Dorothea, Holland; Asiago Pressato, Italy; Manchego, Spain:

The Mouse Catch had the longest line but it was totally worth it! Of course I rated everything a 10 and we had the Martini & Rossi Prosecco as well:

It doesn't get any better than that!

Then it was time for Mexico, another one of my favorite booths!

I love both of them so I got the Chilaquiles AND the Quesadilla con Chorizo:

I also got the Cabernet Sauvignon! JE got 2 Quesadillas and the Petite Syrah. Are you noticing the trend that he has been getting 2 of everything!! We rated the food 10 and the wine 8!

Then we decided to skip the food at Spain and just get wine, so me and JE got the Abadia Retuerta Seleccion Especial! It was fabulous and we gave it an 8.

We decided to drink the wine from Spain with the Beef Goulash and Bacon Dumpling from Austria:

Not sure if that was the best food and wine pairing but the goulash was very yummy, we gave it an 8!

I apologize that at this point I do not remember what EE and PP were eating! So you'll have to help me out on that sis!

Next up: China!

Great reviews!!!! popcorn::

So glad you are enjoying them!

Tusker House for Thanksgiving Breakfast!? I am so jealous!!

I'm glad you are enjoying the reviews! It's a little embarrassing to admit how much I eat, but I had to share these pictures!!

I cannot believe you got that huge cocktail from Poland!!! When I ordered it the size was 1/4 of what you got for $8.50!! You are one lucky girl!

I thought at the time that it was a very generous size, but I wasn't complaining! It went down very easily! :)

Up Next: Lunch at Goofy's Candy Company![/QUOTE]

Wait a sec...did you say LUNCH at Goofy's?? This should be good....you all crack me up. I am glad you ate as much as me and my 3 companions at F&W....we don't feel so bad now!!

After spending some time at Animal Kingdom we went to Downtown Disney! The Festival of the Masters was going on there and it was so much fun to walk around and see all of the fabulous art and jewelry!

Here is Me and EE enjoying a few beverages:

EE had some sort of seasonal pumpkin beer and I had a glass of champagne! Daytime Champagne drinking is one of my favorite activities!

Then is was time for more food! I had never been to Goofy's Candy Company but after seeing all of the pictures of the delicious treats on these boards I had to go there!

The woman making our treats was fabulous! She helped us through the process of selecting our treats and she joked with us the whole time.

Here's Sha making JE's treat:

Here are my Pretzel Rods!
IMG_7257.jpg

I got them dipped in chocolate and covered in oreos, butterfingers, and peanut butter cups with chocolate drizzled over them! They were fabulous! EE helped me eat them and we finished them all!

JE got the Rice Krispie Treat:

He got that dipped in chocolate, covered with oreo, peanut butter cups, and chocolate chips, drizzled with chocolate. Needless to say, he finished his.

Here is PP's Gingerbread Cookie:
IMG_7259.jpg

I'm not exactly sure what's on his, but EE saved his order form so she can let us know. But it definitely looks like there are peanut butter cups on there!

We all loved our treats! EE didn't get her own she just shared all of ours which was a smart idea because we had a fabulous dinner planned!

Up Next: Dinner at Jiko!

PP had crushed peanut butter cups and butterfingers on his gingerbread cookie. I gotta tell you I tasted everyone's treats and PP's was my least favorite I just thinking thing the candy choices went with the cookie but he loved it. Poor JE finished his treat only because PP was egging him on - silly boys. I think SS's were my favorite they were yummy and the easiest to eat.

The seasonal beer at Downtown Disney was fabulous I had tasted the same beer the day before at Epcot JE had gotten one and I helped him finish it before heading into the the American Adventure. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for other seasonal beverages around the parks and trying them.

I can't believe you are already up to posting Jiko Sis! You are doing such a great job here!!

Where in DTD did you get the seasonal beer? We left a few days before Festival of the Master began...Was it a special drink for that? Also, where did you get it in Epcot? TIA

Great trip report!!!

Looking forward to reading about Jiko....It's my fav in all of WDW:goodvibes

The seasonal beer was at a special drink booth set up for Festival of the Masters.

And I'm not 100% sure where JE got the seasonal beer in Epcot we'll have to get back to you on that :)

I don't know if or where they have seasonal drinks for the Winter Holiday but I'm determined to find them! I have seen Holiday drinks in DHS in the past so hopefully this year too.

I wish I had a rice crispy treat from Goofy's right about now......

Yes, I have seen seasonal drinks in the past at DHS also....There is a little bar set up at the entrance to Osbourne's Festival of dancing lights....I believe the drink I had was called a Snowball..And it comes with a light up cube.
