Does anyone here use battery operated candles?

Are there a certain make/brand that are best?

Many say that they are wax, but I don't see real wax as being durable or cleanable???

I am also noticing the Glade 'Wisp', which looks like a battery operated candle that also emits glade scented oils (not that I need the scent).

It sounds nice to have the effect of candles without the mess and fire.

:goodvibes

We use the flameless candles at our church - for receptions and we used them for our youth group sponsored dance. So much safer! And they're cute. Haven't tried the Glade ones, would be nice in my bathroom though!

I got a lot of the Glade Wisp candles free last year with coupon and gave quite a few to my grandma who loved them. She loves candles, but is a little forgetful on putting them out. They are still working fine and they smell nice too.

I bought some flameless candles from QVC last year. They were expensive, like $30 plus shipping and tax for a set of three. Then I saw them at CVS for much cheaper.

I can't tell you how they worked out because I gave them to someone as a Christmas gift. I would imagine Glade's version is more economical than the QVC candles, so why not give them a try? I like the idea in theory. Candles are so dangerous and messy.

I got some at Target last year at Christmas to use on my fireplace mantel. I was surprised at how well they did work. They were something like $4.99 each. I can't help you with the glade stuff though.

I've bought flameless candles from QVC...I keep them when the lights go out. Used them 3 times this past summer & last year in an ice storm.

Thanks! Maybe I should check at CVS...
They will probably have the Wisp, so I can compare.
If I get the Wisp, I think I can get them cheaper at places like Amazon.

I am thinking that I would be just as happy with the votive/glass look, or plastic ones, as I think the wax on the real wax dipped ones would get old, dirty, etc.

My cat is not a fan of the WISP, it must have wisp'd near him or something because he was terrified of it, and made a big point of not going near it. We had to get rid of it. I think it must have startled him he is a bit jumpy. ;)
