I got on the FL Tours site to modify my reservation and saw this info.
Does anyone knows what this means on the FL Tours site?
Is there trouble????? I'd be afraid to have my eggs in a basket that wasn't secure. Or semi secure. :scared1: I don't want to miss da boat!

PLEASE NOTE!!
To better serve our existing scheduled clients, we are not accepting
new reservations on 09/26/09!
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Sounds to me like they were sold out on that day...but that was 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I agree with kcashner.. I looked at this and thought they just need to remove the notice, as it has already passed. :)

I hope so. I was just thinking since it was almost 3 weeks later that maybe something might be up w/ ownership or something freaky? I know they changed hands at least once already. Thanks for the input guys. :thumbsup2

There have been NO bad reports on them recently (like in the last 6 months or so). Still, it never hurts to have a "plan B." If you're at MCO, plan B can be either a rental car or DCL transfers. (you can buy transfers at the welcome center desk the day you sail!)

If you're at the terminal, plan B can be a taxi. I have NO experience with bargaining with them, but people have reported getting a taxi for 4 from port to MCO for $80 by insisting that's all they'll pay.

It's probably the "mom" in me, but I always try to keep in the back of my mind what I'll do if....in those cases where I'm depending on someone else.

THANKS! :thumbsup2 We'll be at the Poly and we asked for an earlier than normal pick up. So if they don't show  I'd hope to be able to grab one of the buses. ;) HOPE. THANKS for the ideas though. It's a limo for a surprise for the kids. okay, the 9 year old. I've never been in one either so I hope it all works out! :thumbsup2

I'm sure you'll be OK...but from the Poly your options would be to wait for the DCL bus (buy transfers from the cruise hostess lady, they'll work it out somehow!) or grab a rental car at the Doubletree by downtown Disney (Budget) or the Swan/Dolphin.

Enjoy your limo. The car dealer where I went for repairs used to use a limo to shuttle people back home--DD LOVED it. We have pics of her in the limo...a whole 15 minute ride.

Fl. Tours is experiencing more reservations than they have vehicles they can sub your ride out to. The company per-se does not own the vehicles or most of the vehicles you ride in. They work with independent drivers who pick you up when your reservation is passed to them. Because the rates you are charged are fairly low and than a driver has to pay Fl. Tours a commission for that ride the drivers supply for Fl. Tours has become quite a bit less. Also if you pre-pay the ride the drivers are experiencing troubles getting their share of the money they should be collecting.

OH I REALLY don't like that. I was going to pre-pay but maybe I'll bring the cash instead. I just hate traveling w/ too much.

This post title scared me...lol...

We're using FL tours in November (for the first time)....I saw that on the site and just took that as they were booked for THAT day. Was there something going on that day?

They were recommended on mousesavers, and we're a party of 10...so the price is right. The girl on the phone was informative and professional....I hope all goes well....:)

Let us know how it goes for you when you get back...if you get the chance.....

That was my family spring break 2009. It was a piece of cake and I didn't have to spend any effort worrying about reservations.

We used FL Tours for our cruise in August. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They gave us a great rate and customized trip. We were two families at two different WDW resorts needing pick-ups, a booze stop and a run to the port. Everything was perfect! We rented a van, a sweet Caddy showed up! Driver was awesome! Will use them next year.

Our driver Daren was awesome too on 5th September, no problems whatsoever - and the kids loved watching the DVD's in the back of the van:thumbsup2

We have used them twice now, with no problems. Recently (oct 10th), my husband's cell phone rang just as we were walking out of the cruise terminal (sniff sniff), it was our driver telling us that he was just pulling up to the pick up area! Perfect timing. We book them to take us from the port to WDW after cruising.

How early did you have them meet you at the port? We're trying to get off the boat and get to AKL to get to a D23 event that starts at 9:45. How early would be too early to have them meet us?

I booked them for pick up at 7:45 am. I think they will pick you up at anytime (but I believe the earliest that you could probably get off the ship is 7:30am if everything goes smoothly......I think Disney says disembarkment is at 8am).
We had early breakfast seating at 6:45 am....we ate ( I am guessing that took 45 minutes), then we walked out of Parrot Cay and got in line to disembark (the end of the line was almost back to Parrot Cay), we stood in line a short time, and then the line began moving.

I believe that we were through luggage and customs by 7:45am -8am. Luggage and customs went quickly and smoothly. It was fast.

We walked out to pick up area and there he was. We dropped off my inlaws at the airport by 9am, and then we went on to Caribbean Beach Hotel. We checked in (no rooms ready), checked our luggage/carryons at hotel and then took the busses to MK. I don't know what time we got to the parks, but it was early. I do know that my inlaws were at the airport by 9am, so we defintely could have been at the parks by 9am (if we hadn't had the airport stop).....I definately think you could be in the parks by 9:30am.

I would definately leave FL your cell phone number and turn your cell phone on that morning.

The last time we used them, they weren't there when we got off (we got off about 10 min earlier than expected). I called FL Tours 1-800 number and they had the driver call me. He was on his way, just running a few minutes late. I have found that they do a good job of communicating with their drivers/customers.

I always book them early, and then call to pay and verify all details about 2 days before I get on the ship. I give them my cc number and they do not charge it until the day of pick up.

Let me know if you have any more questions...we just did the oct 3 -10 cruise.

I just re-read your post. YES, I think you can definately be to AKL by 9:30am. I thought you were going to AK and then would have to figure in bus time...but, since it's straight to the lodge, you will be fine.

Speaking of Fl Tours, a much tip do you give to the driver? I've heard 15$ each way.... is it OK?

Initially when we had a round trip scheduled, the tip was said to be "included" in the rate. At that time I think the rate was $330 from WDW to port and port to MCO. No stops. But I just rescheduled to just have the trip from WDW to port and we're going to rent a car back so we can make a few stops. THEN the rate was changed to be $170 PLUS 20% tip. Hmmm. I don't like how that went. I'm sure they were unhappy we cancelled part of it but hmmmmmm.
