We just got home from our first trip to Disney. After reading these boards for the past 6 months I decided to use FL Tours. I went to the web page and made my reservations. I gave them our flight number, time we were arriving, and that we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Now, when they asked you to pick your location they named some Disney Resorts. WL was not mentioned so I hit other resorts.

I received my e-mail confirmation that stated my flight, time, and that we were going to the WL. The price of $90 was also on this confirmation for a round trip fare.

I was very pleased with all of this. I had my envelope all ready for them with the $85 ( had a printed coupon for $5 off), and a tip.

When we reached WL Andy, that was our driver, said the cost was $114. I pulled out my PRINTED confirmation that CLEARLY stated the fee of $90 to the WL. He said since I typed in other that is what I am charged. Even though the cost to WL is $90. Well, how come my CONFIRMATION CLEARLY stated what we agreed to.

My husband asked if I selected the wrong catagory why did FL Tours not e-mail us and tell us. Instead of giving us a confirmation and then NOT HONORING it!!!!

We were soooo upset about being lied to by FL Tours. The trip could not of started out any worse. Knowing that FL Tours just totally RIPPED US OFF!!!

Let me just say, WL was fanatastic and the rest of the trip was magical.

PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE --- FL TOURS CONFIRMATIONS MEAN NOTHING!!!!!!! DO NOT BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR DESTINATION YOU ARE CHARGED MORE REGUARDLESS WHAT YOU HAVE AGREED TO!!!!

Oh no! I have neighbors going to WDW for the first time, staying at WL. I told them to use FL Tours since it is always so highly recommended on here. I'm wondering if I should book them with a different company now?

From Florida Tours website...looks like you should have been something different than $90.
But I agree, that confirmation made it confusing.
Florida Tours rates

From the FT website, in case it helps someone else.
Magic Kingdom Resorts:
Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness Lodge
*Please Note A $9 gate entrance fee will be added to all round trip transportation to the Magic Kingdom Resorts or a one way originating from the Magic Kingdom Resorts. This fee is charged by Disney to all transportation companies.
This charge does not apply to Limo reservations.

Firsttime,
Just for the record, it is $99.00 I asked not $114.00. I cannot make mistake on this as I’m responsible for all the content of what was written on the website –including the rate. Now, when you appeared puzzled and showed me the confirmation you have at hand which states $90.00, I tried to explain to you how you had chosen “Other Disney Resorts” when you should have been choosing “Magic Kingdom Resorts”. This, I tried to point out both to you and your husband was the reason why the rate was different than what you had in a print out. Please look at our reservation page 2.

Page 2 of our reservation form states "**the above price quote is based on your transfer detail, vehicle type and number of passengers. If your transfer detail does not match the information you submit on this page, your final price may be different."

I’m sorry to hear that we've caused your vacation to start in a bad way but, you could have easily rechecked our website by doing a mock reservation to see if we really deserve the blame.
Andy

CaliforniaDreaming,
You've nothing to worry about. We certainly appreciate your recommendation. You could not have chosen a better company for your neighbors. They will receive first class service.

My wife and I are also planning a trip and have done our research as well. We are going to stick with our first transportation choice, FLTOURS. Although we aren't staying at a Magic Kindom resort, we did notice that it's an extra $9 charge, making it $99. I don't understand this bad review to FLTOURS. I think that if someone did their research for 6 months, they would know that Wilderness Lodge is a Magic Kingdom Resort.

Now, when you appeared puzzled and showed me the confirmation you have at hand which states $90.00, I tried to explain to you how you had chosen “Other Disney Resorts” when you should have been choosing “Magic Kingdom Resorts”.

AndyN, I have never used your service and you should know that I am of the opinion that mistakes happen so I am trying not to judge your service by this. But I am concerned by the following:

I received my e-mail confirmation that stated my flight, time, and that we were going to the WL. The price of $90 was also on this confirmation for a round trip fare.

1. If the OP should have chosen MK Resorts, wasn't it your responsibility to inform her when you saw -- and you had to have seen from the ressie, since you confirmed it - that she was going to the WL? Perhaps she was unaware that by clicking MK Resorts, it would display a list. Perhaps bc she did not see WL specifically on the rates page, she assumed she needed to pick "other"?

2. If you were the driver, as it seems like you were from your note, and you knew from the time that she got in the car that she was going to WL, then couldn't you have just adjusted the price? I am not sure I understand why you'd try to charge her to go someplace that she did not go....and then blame her for the error when you had confirmed it...?

Last, to me, it looks like your mistake. And I am a bit concerned that if there is a problem with your company, I'd have to go on-line to do a "mock reservation" to prove my point. I am going to encourage you to TLC here -- "think like a customer". Would you want that as the response you received to a pricing disagreement with a vendor?

I think you are misinterpreting what happened here. Andy didn't "try to charge her to go someplace that she did not go". He charged her to go to the WL. The fare is $90 plus the $9 gate fee. By the OP choosing "Other Disney resorts" instead of "MK resorts" on the form she submitted to make her reservation, the $9 fee did not show up on her comfirmation. It only would have been added in if she correctly chose her destination as MK resorts. Since she didn't, it wasn't on her confirmation. The "Other Disney resorts" she picked do not incur the $9 gate fee and thus don't add it to the confirmation.

Last, to me, it looks like your mistake...
I don't think it was Andy's mistake at all. In this case, the woman made the mistake which generated her a confirmation for LESS than the actual amount should have been. The website clearly displays a list of the MK resorts right by the "submit" button on the reservation page. Apparently that wasn't read by the OP. That's not Andy's fault.

Could the form have been designed a little better to have avoided this? Sure. Was the woman "ripped off" by it? No. She just failed to read everything before clicking submit.

By the way, I have never used FL Tours. I just don't like seeing someone unfairly judged guilty for something they didn't do.

YMMV

I am so sorry. I totally missed the part about the $9 fee. Now I understand!

Allison

We used ******** August 27 - Sept 1, RT to WL and back to MCO. Our fee for the towncar was the $90, minus a $5 coupon. ($85 + tip)
My understanding the increase from WL from other resorts we have stayed covered the entrance fee.

So what is the deal with typing ******** and getting *'s???

Andy- not knowing your website, I cannot check this out for my self, but I do have a question. If the fee is $90.00 and then there is an additional fee of $9.00 for MK resorts- which would = $99.00 and that is what you charged, why, when she had a coupon for $5.00 off, why was she not charged $94.00 ??

Sounds like a reasonable and honest explaination to me. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Because the fee is 95. plus 9.00 for the resort fee, which equals 104. take off the 5.00 coupon and you have 99.00. Read the link, it clearly states the fee plus the resort fee charge. Perhaps rather than a dollar sign a GREAT BIG * would be better.

Edited to correct my math error.

Do some companies charge the $9 gate fee at MK resorts and others don't? I ask this because we stayed at the Polynesian last month. Booked TT. We were quoted a price of $90. With their $8 off coupon from PassPorter, the charge was $82. Our driver, if I'm remembering correctly, took our paperwork, showed it quickly at the gate and passes through, with no charge. I'm just curious why the difference.

Yes, yes it is. and 104-5=99.00 . I cannot claim a mistype here either, but, I think it was a brain fade. I am sorry.

Perhaps it was included in your rate, but, all transport companies, except Mears, have to pay this fee for access or egress to MK resorts. If you look at their website you will see that different prices apply to different resorts.

I, too, believe the fault is NOT with FL Tours. After looking at their website, they clearly state which resorts are MK resorts. It may have been an honest mistake on the poster's side but the fact still remains that they made the mistake.

We are looking forward to our ride with FL Tours in November (to a non-MK resort).
 I wish they would just give us a discount as we may have to use them for a one-way too as my husband is coming in later than the rest of us and we would hate to use Mears.

We all make mistakes, I do it all the time. BUT....it is how we handle these mistakes that make all the difference in the world.
The site, as you said, is quite clear, but, perhaps in the excitement of making the plans, it was not read completely.

I am in support of the OP. She is brand new to all of this, to their website and to DW. To me, I remember all too well the companies that have given me a break in the past for one thing or another. I become a customer for life and don't forget their kindness. I know business is business. But there is such a thing as a little flexibility here and there. You would have most likely have gained a loyal customer for years and years and she would have also come back to the Dis and commended your flexiblility, even though it was her mistake. It would have gone a long way.
