FL Seasonal Passes and Magic Bands

Our last trip to Disney was (12/2013) and we had the Magic Bands (it was during the early beta testing of the Bands I guess). We were also FL Resident seasonal passholders and had active passes when we made the 12/2013 reservations. It was easy to 'link' our seasonal passes to our Magic Bands through our My Disney Experience (MDE) account since our seasonal passes were already linked to our MDE account.
We have our reservation made for a 12/2014 FW trip but since our last seasonal passes expired shortly after our 12/2013 Disney Trip we will need to purchase new ones. Before the Magic Bands, we always just stopped at a Park's Customer Relations (wished they would sell park passes at the resorts for resort guests - like at the FW Reservations Building) and purchased new FL Seasonal Passes. But with the FP+ feature is linked to the Magic Bands, I was told to use the FP+ feature I must have park passes linked to my MDE account. So this means I can not wait until I arrive at FW/Disney on 12/5/14 to purchase my new FL seasonal passes.

So here is my question(s) that perhaps someone may know the answers to. Since I will have to purchase our new FL Resident Seasonal Pass via either the Disney Website or by phone, will those new passes show up on my MDE account right away so I can link them to my Magic Bands and start to make FP+ (after October 6th for me) reservations? Or will I receive and Email with the pass numbers so I can linked them to my MDE account. In the past I always had the physical Seasonal Pass cards to link them to my MDE account from the card numbers. Will Disney still send me 'physical' Seasonal pass cards or will I still have to go to a Park's Customer Relations to physically pick them up ....... or is everything electronic now with Magic Bands for Resort Guest?

Thanks,
Russ

Unfortunately, this is not an answer to your question, I am just tagging on here. I have a similar problem. Our FL residents seasonal passes will expire on 12/8. We have our ressies 12/6 for 7 days at the Fort. I can renew them 60 days in advance, but will I have a new pass number to add to my MDE? in time to make FP+? Wish I had an answer to OP and my inquiry. Hopefully someone will have information for us. Thanks! :confused3

Hopefully someone will be able to answer here but you may want to post your question on the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" sub forum.

Good luck!

Great suggestion, thank you.

I guess on the DisBoard I have sort of treated the Camping at Disney Sub-Forum as 'home' and tend to post here first. I took your suggestion and re-posted in the Theme Parks ......." sub Forum.

We visited in October of '13 . I purchased seasonal resident passes in advance; I had to go to Guest Relations to get them activated but as soon as I had paid for them they showed up on My Disney Experience and Magic Bands were sent . I was also able to make FP reservations in advance without having passes in hand. I did have my Fort reservations made as well. I'd be interested in hearing what you find from other sources
