FL school day off in Oct

Last year we were in Disney the week of Oct. 11-18th and on Friday, Oct. 17th the MK was especially crowded. I heard rumors that school in Florida was closed that day for Superintendent's day or something like that.

Does anyone know if that is the same case this year? We are going to Disney the week of Oct. 9-16th and I wanted to start planning our day's events. I wanted to know if Friday, Oct. 15th the schools are closed.

Some schools of fall break the week of the 9th and the week of the 16th.

Depends on the county. Dade County has a teacher work day Oct 15. I would think perhaps a lot do because that is the weekend of our Florida Registery of Interpreters for the Deaf Conference and they try to schedule it so our ed terps can come too. Not in Orlando btw but I may run over on Sunday since it is in Tampa.

TiggerInNY we are also going to be there Oct. 9-16. If FL does have workdays scheduled, they may not take them in order to make up for anytime lost during Charley (if schoolsthere have started yet). I hope it's not too crowded, I scheduled this around 1-1/2 teachers w/d here in NC, never occurred that all school systems might do this - duh.

We are staying at the Poly, where are y'all staying???

In our county, we make up days in March and at the end of the year.
