Hi all

I am SOOOOO Excited to be making a big family trip to WDW 1/17-1/22/2014. What kind of weather can I expect from those of you that have "January experience"?? I am from Southern California.

I was too young to remember, but when I was very very little, my family made a trip to WDW in February, bringing the typical "vacation wear" of shorts, t-shirts, etc. They had to buy coats and warm clothes!

This I want to avoid!

Anybody have any idea or experience here? And yes, I know that you're more than likely not a meteorologist, and that the weatherman near WDW is no more accurate than the one in Los Angeles...

Thanks all,

Very simple, you could have a high of 84 degrees or a high of 44 degrees with lows in the 20's,more than likely you'll get something in the middle, maybe a high of 68-78 with lows between 48-58.That's just the way winter is in Florida, you're going to have to wait until you're a couple days out to get an idea of what you'll get.I ran the Disney full marathon this year which is always held the second week of January with highs around 84-85,in 2010 both the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday had temperatures in the 25-35 range with sleet and snow flurries.

Bring layers and remember the pools are all heated!!

We usually try to go in February when the NY schoold have winter break. No matter what temp it is outside - my kids always want to swim and will even brave cold weather for some water slides! However, coming from NY winters where the average temp is just above freezing - even a 50 degree day can be a treat.

Good luck and have fun no matter what!!

Wait and check the weather a couple days before you come. If it's supposed to be warm, bring a set of long pants and jacket; and a pair of shorts if it's supposed to be cold. Even though it's the "dry season" bring a set of ponchos JIC.

Florida weather is truely insane. Two days ago, I was wearing a coat and boots, today I wore shorts and flip flops. I think Florida is someone's idea of an experiment in how rapid changes in weather affect the human psyche.
