i WILL ADMIT, we are new at this discount code stuff.....

just learned last year a bout discount codes....
we have been going to wdw SINCE they opened in 72...
never knew anything about codes...always paid the reg rate at all the hotels and FW...
NOW, I am in a camping club and one of the people in the club tells me he gets great rates at FW ...SPENDS the whole winter in loop 1500 as a resident of FL...SOMETHING about going to MV, Getting an ID card for residency in FL since he stays there so long...
how does that work...it it kosher or what....duh......
any feedback on that one.... this is most peculiar, mama////
THE SPINNER:(

WE just got back from FW and we met several couples that were going to be there for 3 or 4 months. Had there campground all decorated for Christmas... more than I decorate at home.. it was really cool...

When we were there a few weeks ago, a CM told me that there's someone who's been there since October 2002!!

FW does offer specials for snowbirds who want to come for an extended amount of time. Contact CRO and they can give you info on this

As for the Fla resident code. You can find that on mousesvers.com, but you must have a Fla address to get the discount. They require one of the following at checkin:
VALID Florida Drivers License

VALID Florida State issued ID card (MUST have Florida address)

Utility statement with the guest name and address along with a corresponding picture ID (Must have a Florida address)

VALID Voters Registration Card with corresponding picture ID

VALID Florida Based Military ID - Florida Military Bases

VALID College ID (MUST be a Florida college)

Each adult in the party is required to have a Florida ID.

The key to all the above is that you must have a Florida address.

Saw on DISCOUNTS that there were Fl. rates for Jan. and Feb. so I called on Tues. and found that Jan. was all taken but got the discount rate for our Feb. stay and March stay at FW. Will check back in Jan. to see about April, May and June.
Thought the wife once said that if the stay is longer that 21 days then there is the special discount rate available to all.

yes, we were, at least able to get the winter settlers rate for lenght of stay 21 days....
that was about it...could not get the rate that was finally posted in DECEMBER..CALLED and called and called...nothing was available....
well, one year when we checked out after 12 days they applied a discount to our bill giving us the 31. rate without even asking..
go figger...

If you spend a great deal of time in Florida, you mayu be considered a "part time resident". As such, Florida will allow you to be issued a drivers licence which is noted "Valid in florida Only", and this licence will bear the Florida address you provide.

From the State of Florida HSMV Web Site

What do I need to bring to obtain a Florida Driver License or Identification Card?

Age 18 or Older
United States Citizen proof of identity.
Non-United States Citizen proof of identity.
Social Security number, if issued.
Proof of completion of a Traffic Law & Substance Abuse Education Course or license from another jurisdiction.

Part-time Resident

Part-time residents may elect to retain their valid out-of-state license and receive a Florida license which states "Valid in Florida Only."

Florida Identification Card

United States Citizen proof of identity and requirements.
Non-United States Citizen proof of identity and requirements.
Social Security number if issued.
Must be 12 years of age or older (No minimum age in Citrus, St. Johns or Monroe counties).
No test required.
An original identification card is $3.
To renew an identification card is $10.

Note: Giving false information on an application for a driver license or identification card is a third degree felony which may result in arrest, and includes a one-year suspension of the driving privilege. Proof of correct address may be required, for example, cancelled mail envelope received.

I think that for one trip to FW it would not be worth the time to get a licence, but if you are in fact a part time resident and make multiple trips it may be worth your while.
