My daughter is a Cast Member at Disney for a 12 month program and has just received her Florida Driver's License in the mail.

Can we assume that she can now purchase a FL resident annual pass with the DL as her ID? Also, we're confused about purchasing individual park tickets. If you are a FL resident, and you have guests you want to take to Universal, can you purchase and use FL resident tickets or does everyone have to be a FL resident? The website states a maximum purchase of 6 tickets so I'm confused....:confused3

Her boyfriend is coming down from Ontario to visit her next week and I'm trying to figure out if she can purchase a FL resident park ticket for him to use while she buys herself an annual pass....

Any information would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

I am not even sure I have rly been ID'd when buying but yes it seems that you can buy up to 6 for friends/family also.(Weird policy imo)

So she should have no prob buying a ticket for him.

Be careful, I spoke to customer service and they are now saying no. The policy changed this year with the FL Res tickets. We already bought one for my DH before change because we were told that it was allowed and now they said he might have to change it for a normal ticket at the gate. :confused3

Seaworld still allows it, I did verify that for the tickets we bought for that trip.

I am a Florida resident and last year I went IOA, bought a one-day, two-park ticket online, I had my driver's license ready and at both park entrances they never asked for one, they just scanned the bar code of the printed ticket. But that was just me. They might ask you for proof

Well, I had her give Universal a call and they said it's only for FL residents. She can purchase an annual pass for herself, but her boyfriend will have to buy a regular ticket I guess. The only thought might be that she purchases the $75 2day/2park FL resident ticket and if questioned, then pay the difference....

I guess this is a new policy? I have been going to universal for years with out of state guests and buy them fl resident tickets every time. It was never an issue.

I think you can get discounted tickets w/ an annual pass but I'm not sure how much. So maybe check that out.

I have a hard time keeping the rules for the AP tickets and FL Resident tickets straight since I always use my AP to purchase tickets for friends/family. The AP discounts are usually better so if you know someone who has an AP, get with them to see if you can buy tickets with their AP discount.

If Universal has changed the FL resident policy to be more strict just keep this in mind...Disney does not allow any type of discount tickets for the passholder or resident to purchase for friends/family which is one of my main gripes about them.

I talked to universal about 2 months ago at that time I was told no problem only the the purchaser needed to show ID. I talked to Universal today just to make sure, I was told each person would need to show ID to use a florida resident tickets. I wonder if they have changed their policy or if you never know until you get there.
