Fl Resident Rate Glitch

I was also able to get CSR for $107 11/23-11/27.

Here is my question. We are traveling with relatives and I put them as the primary guest of the room, however it is my address that is listed, which isn't a FL address. They are not available this morning to book. They are FL residents, they will be there to check in with their FL drivers license. Outside of the computer glitch has anyone done this in the past and had any problems. Curious for feedback.

You need to go in and create an account for them, with there address & when you book, log into their account & it will work out... with these rates, I wouldn't do anything that can make them not honor it... I would have the address match the name & it be a FL resident. They must be the primary name.... this way there are no mistakes.

I just saw you were from GA, do they not honor it for GA residents? I thought we were the same GA/FL rates??? It use to be.

If you go as far as the confirmation they are subtracting rather than adding the tax. The more rooms you add, the lower the rate. Do you think they will honor it?
I just got finished saying on another thread Disney system people turn out 'trash.' Here is another stellar example of what I was referring to. Hope you all get to keep your great rates!! :)

Your comment was not called for, we didn't do this glitch Disney did. If they haven't picked up on it, why are we trash? Is it because you cannot get it? There have been other hotels & even airlines with a glitch, they have honored it. Have you ever bought something from a store that was mismarked & they gave it to you due to their error? It is the same thing. We aren't trash for getting it, I am sure if you were able to get it, you would be too. :confused3 There is no need to be calling us names.

If you actually read what sherry8253 said, it was

"DISNEY SYSTEM PEOPLE TURN OUT TRASH" - meaning that the IT people who work on the disney website/booking engine seem to be putting out products that don't work like they are suppose to.

Seems to me someone has a guilty conscience .... :rolleyes1

I don't think she was saying we're 'trash' - I took the comment to mean the people who are programming the website are turning out 'trash' - least I sure hope that's what she meant :confused3

If that is the case I am sorry for my post. I was up until 2:30am last night, then got up at 6am.... I am tired & the way I read it was that we were the trash. I did a search for the "post" that she said she had recently done (to see how that was worded) and didn't find anything, maybe it wasn't on the DIS boards :confused3 .... I took it as, the system brings out the trash meaning us.... :guilty: I am truly sorry if that wasn't what she meant....

Actually I don't have a quilty conscience, not when I put in one resort & then when you click over to the "Reccomendations" tab, the lower rate resort pops up??? Computer glitch's happen. Had I done something sneaky to get the rate, yes.... I would have a guilty conscience, but when it is open to any FL resident ..... why would I feel quilty??
My husband said this morning that maybe it isnt' a glitch, maybe they are trying to fill up those 2 resorts with FL residents for some reason. I know they are the resorts that the food court will not honor the Disney Dining Card, I know that CS is a convention resort & maybe they had conventions that canceled & that is how they chose to fill it back up... who knows :confused3 but I think it is a glitch.

It is most definately a glitch, but now the question of whether or not they will honor it. When I plugged in the dates of 10/21 to 10/24 it came up with at total of $180.96. When I scrolled down it broke it down as follows:

Room rate: $144.00 per night TOTAL: $432.00
Then it Subtracted a total of $245.04 in TAX leaving a grand total of $180.96. It seems the more days you put in the less the total, so I figure the tax calculations is where the mistakes are.

My husband suspects they will not honor it since the room rate is clearly stated at $144.00 per night. State and local tax (where the mistake seems to be) is non-negotiable. His theory is this: when you get ready to book your room you have to check off on the "terms and conditions" page. One of the "terms" is that they guarantee the "room rate". He thinks that since it clearly identifies the room rate correctly ($144.00) then that is what they have to legally honor.

I personally think they will let the rates stand. My husband and I have a bet! I did not book since we are going in September and got a great rate already, but good luck to those who posted. Please keep us informed.

My guess is that the few people who got these surprise rates will actually ADD money to WDW coffers since some are going to make a special trip just because of the great rates. Thus they will spend $$ on food, tickets, etc.

They must have th problem fixed cause I just tried like 30 different dates including the ones you all gave and its coming up correct rate.

Yes, that is how it is broken down. When you follow compelety through with the ressie, your confimations comes saying that the:
grand total $180.96
deposit paid 8/27 $60.32
Balance due at arrival $80.64

had it not said that, I would be very leary of it...but it states what is due, so while it does show where the error is, it also states balance due
yeah, it is possible that they will not honor it, as I said before, for me, no biggie.... I will cancel & they would have to give me a refund of my deposit since the ressie rate was an "error". These 2 trips were just extra for me. Yes, they will be getting more moeny out of me on food...lots more this time since one of the trips is Thanksgiving... my luck, I will not find a place to eat except at the food court :rotfl:

If Disney tries go get out of it, I'd fight like heck! There are "Truth in Adverstising" Laws that would make it illegal for them to get out of it. Basically if something is advertised/offered at a certain price, if a buyer wants it at that price the seller can't change it.
Doesn't apply to the Internet. I received an e-mail ad a year or so ago and tried to buy the item advertised... the company said it was a typo and refused to honor the ad. I contacted the government agency in charge of "truth in advertising" (FCC, I guess?) and they said it doesn't apply to anything advertised on the Internet. So unless the law has changed since then, you could be SOL. I hope everyone gets their great rates!

How can they not be liable for it? It would be clearly a breach of contract since you have already put money down. It is just like the airlines messing up with their fare loads and they always honor them. It would also provide a lot of bad press and make it all over the news.

Anyway is anyone else having luck because I cannot get any of the special fares to load.

Rex

I can see it not applying, then as I said, they shouldn't be able to hold us liable for the error & keep our deposit in the even we cancel since we will not want to pay the full price (at least I won't want to..can't speak for eveyone). I hope everyone that is booking this rate see's that it is a 46 day out cancelation policy & not the 5 day.....

Ok I got it booked this is going to be a FL DIS 4 day vacation that week isnt it.

I wish It would come up for Oct now.

I am off to Target now to see what deals they have .... :cloud9:
good luck to all who are trying..... :sunny:

I'm sure there's some fine print on their website that says they're not responsible for pricing errors. All they have to do is say "Sorry, that was an error," refund your deposit, and you have no injury to claim. I'm not saying they WILL do it, or SHOULD do it, just that they CAN. And it's perfectly legal.
