FL resident & no DP available per WDW ??

Nanna & Gampa have the oppurtunity to intro 6 yo GD to WDW in July. Booked 4 days @ Contemp and 3 day single park passes. When we called back to inquire about DP, we were told that because we used our FL resident discount , the DP was not offered ? While we'll get by, it just doesn't sound true, but it was from WDW mouth. Any thoughts ???

This is right, to get the dining plan you can't book your room with a discount (AAA may be an exception IF you book all of it directly with AAA, but even that they can't do with the free dining). Depending on the room discount you're better off with that than dining, especially at a deluxe resort. They could check into the DDE card to get 20% off TS meals, you can buy this card if you're a Fl resident or AP holder.
