Can anyone tutor me on FL resident discounts?

My parents bought a house in FL and are interested in what kind of deals they can get at WDW. Is it just room only rates? We really like the Dining Package. Can you get a FL res. discount on a package? How many rooms can a resident reserve at a discount? Is there somewhere that all this is written down?

Thanks in advance. (Just back today and already planning :goodvibes )

go to Disney.com, on the left click on WDW, and once in that screen, click on Florida rates on the right, mid page. Put in your zip code and you are in! Prices, specials are listed there.

Normally there are no discounts on packages for us residents, just room only & pass only must do them ala-cart. I want to say we can book up to 3 rooms in our name. The resident's name must be linked with all three rooms (same ressie) if I am making sence to you. You can check in without the resident there however, the resident must get there prior to midnight & show proof of address or the rooms will be charged at rack rate.
As DMRick said, go to the offical Disney site & see all of the FL resident benefits (and what you need as proof)

Thank you. Bummer about the no-packages thing though. Are the discounts on rooms and tickets good enough to make up for no dining plan, in you opinion. We really loved the dining plan--especially with the kids!

I think they are worth it.. the money you save on an AP or a Seasonal more than makes up for it. The room discounts use to be the same as an AP discount but then when the BRP came out it changed it. We will see now that the BRP is no longer in effect if they Res Rates end up the same as the AP again. Up until last year only FL residents were able to get the DDE card, now anyone with an AP can purchase it. That is worth the money. Mine has paid for itself over & over.

I looked at the Fl Res. specials page. They are not very far in advance. Do they ever give Fl. res rates 6 months or more in advance? I'm a teacher and spur of the moment is hard.

You will only be able to get the discount on the rooms for your family, the tickets for Florida residents will only be able to be purchased for your parents, not for you and your children. You parents can also join the Disney Dining Experience as Florida residents and they will be able to get 20% off on your meals, for up to 9 people.

I need to correct this as I just checked into Fl resident discounts. Unless your parents claim Florida as their residency and have a drivers license they will not qualify for Florida residents discount as they're no florida residents. It used to be that Disney would take a utility bill as a form of ID but this is no longer the case. They will have to have valid ID in order to qualify and without it the rate will go to rack rate.

Sorry.

No, Florida resident specials are not always given far in advance. They just opened up past 2/15 the other day. Just like AP discounts, there are only so many rooms set aside and once they're gone, they're gone.
