Hi. I'm new to this forum, but not the Disboards.
I am a FL resident and am considering doing a cruise with my DS now 10, DD now 8 and DS now 6 in either January 2008 or October 2008.
Can anyone give me an idea if the FL resident rates are different than the full price rack rate at the
DCL website?
Can you make installment payments?
Our family has never cruised before, but we have been dreaming about this for quite a while. Instead of a couple days of Disney itself, I thought it would be exciting to do this for a milestone birthday in October.
Thanks. Beejie
Once you book you will be required to make a down payment, i cant remember excatly what it was, but a few hundred dollars. after that it is up to you. You have a pay off date where you can pay the total balance or you can make a payment each month, then pay off any left by the pay off date.
They dont set up an official plan, you just send in a payment or call them each time you wan to make a payment.
That is if you booked directly through DCL not a TA. I dont know if it works the same with payments if you use a TA.
Just in case you dont have a Fl resident discount offered you should book as soon as possible for the lowest rates. The closer the cruise gets the higher the price will be. You can always change the date later if you need to. But book soon for the lowest rates.
The last 2 times we got the fl resident rates when we first called DCL they said No it's not being offered after we had seen it in print. My husband insisted and almost got into an argument with the lady.
When he asked to speak to a supervisor, she all of a sudden found the rates. She still tried to discourage us from taking it because we would loose our $100 dollar room credit. He told her we would gladly loose the hundred to save $450. with the discount. She finally changed it for us, but she was a real pain .
This has happened twice to us, so if they give you trouble about it. And you have seen it posted, be insistant, ask for a supervisor, do what ever it takes to get it. I dont know for sure, but perhaps they loose some comission or something if you get the discount.
I know the other poster gave you a great site to look at for the rates, also allseastravel.com will have them listed 4 to 6 weeks before your cruise.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me and ask them, I will try to answer for you,
