FL Resident Discount or PIN Code....any difference?

Hello! I want to book a room at the Poly in May. Currently they have the FL Resident special where you can get 40% off of deluxe resorts. I was messing around with WDW's reservation website this morning (while signed in) and that must have prompted them to send me an email saying they were excited I was considering the Poly or something to that effect. It had the specific dates I was wanting on it. Towards the bottom there was a resort offer for 20/30/40% off and a PIN code. The dates were select dates going all the way into December.

So anyway...is there any difference between the two? Should I use the FL Resident discount and save this PIN for later? I looked and didn't see an expiration date on it. Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I'm a newbie on this.

My other question is how long do these specials last? Do they fill up fast? My hope is to book this week...even tonight. We are just waiting on my mom's work to approve her time off. I an so anxious to book because without these deals, I would never be able to justify the cost of staying at a deluxe. :wizard:

With the PINs and regular discounts, AP and FL there are supposedly different blocks of rooms, so if the room you want isn't avail with your best discount, try one of the others. I try almost daily for the AP and GP discount for Feb 5-12. I just want a standard room we have a woods view booked with the 40% PIN. Ap is 45 % - can't even apply that code to save the 5% nothing but the bunk beds were avail the last check! (nothing at WL for those dates with the GP discount today. The 750 giftcard has all but the standard! If they had standard, I would book it and use the PIN for the last 2 nights but nothing.

Okay thanks. So that basically gives me two shots at getting a discounted room.

A standard room is fine with me, and they've still got them available at a FL discount. I want to book now!

If you have the PIN, there is a GP plus the FL disount so that's 3. I don't know if you're interested in the giftcard, you really have to figure the numbers on that one! Also, I didn't mean the standard rooms are easy to get (for us at WL) they were harder! I guess because you could really get a great rate with the discounts, they try to put the more expensive rooms available for the codes/PINs. I would call and hopefully you get a great CM that has no problem checking all the codes and PIN. MAke sure you have the 3 letter codes (on WDW site or MOusesavers.com)

when my wife called last night we had a wonderful CM who was checking an AP, Military, and FL Resident rate for all the resorts we requested with and without dining. my wife was frustrated when certain room types were available under certain rate codes, but not others. This was even true when adding dining under a specific rate. Needless to say, it seemed across the board the military rate was better than the AP or FL resident rate.

I know it's a pain when checking everything and trying to get the best deal!! I am still checking for a standard or just a woods view at AP for Feb 5 for a week!! Nothing except what we have already woods at 40% off. Better than nothing! Glad you got something after all that!! Where did you book? Just curious!

we ended up book at CSR for this weekend (no dining) for $220 and at BWV the weekend of 2/5-2/7 for $445, tax included. We have the TIW so decided to skip dining. We were really hoping for BC because we love it there but they only had Club Level available and we figured we wouldn't use it much. I wish I had a pin offer to figure out if that would have been cheaper.

The pin is just 40% off. The AP is better rate and the FL is about the same I think. The PIN really just allowed for earlier booking at 40% off Deluxe.

I think I am going to book the hotel tonight. I don't want to wait any longer and I would be shocked if my mom's time off request wasn't approved. It's just a room reservation, and from the looks of it you can get a full refund of your deposit if you have to cancel anyway - unless it is less than 5 days before your trip. Poly here I come!:cheer2:

I would book it so you are sure to get the room type you want. Yes, it's a one day deposit and you can be refunded up to 5 maybe 6 days prior to arrival.

THanks. We are arriving in FL on Feb 5 (driving so I hope no bad weather from NJ) and staying for a week. We have a great AP rate at Disney's Hilton Head (73/night) for on the way back home. It's a little off the highway, but when checking for an AP rate for the Feb stay(no luck since the first day! that's why for sure you should book!) I saw 40 % off the Hilton head resort and saw it was so inexpensive and booked! We booked 2 woods view (back when we got the PIN in Oct!, no standards avail even then, I don't think they were even in the mix) I've been trying to get the standard view ever since! I guess I'm lucky to have the woods but a standard would give us about 260 less between the 2 rooms even with just the 40% off, nevermind the 45% off. Hope you get what you want!!

Sorry you weren't able to get the standard view rooms. I'm sure they are always the first to go!

We booked our room last night! We are staying at the Poly with a garden view. I am very excited!

Thanks! Glad you got your room booked! To be honest, I don't think the standard were in the offer at all, esp the AP for my dates. I checked first thing in the morning when the offers came out. Woods wasn't even ever avail for AP for my dates. AKL was at 131/night. No one wanted to stay there. HAve a great trip!

That's a nice price for AKL. Too bad it's so far out of the way!

Thanks. I hope you have a great trip too!:wizard:

If you are worried about loosing the room, waiting for your moms vacation time to be approved....Call Disney and ask them to put the room on a hold reservation (no money down!!!). Disney can put the reservation on a complimentary 7 day hold, this gives you time to think about it, get the vacation time approved etc.. and if you want it call them back and pay the deposit! By doing this you make sure you get the room you want!! If you decide not to book the room just call and cancel the hold ressie.
