FL Residence Rate

Did I hear wrong or are Georgia residents able to use the FL resident rates? If so, how and for what?

Sometimes WDW will offer a "FL & Neighbor Resident Rate" that includes GA. It can save anywhere between 20-40% of the rack rate. There are black-out dates and not every day is included. If you get the discounted room rate you might not be eligible for free dining or the DDP - would have to check with CRO. CRO will also be the ones to check for any discounts for GA residents but you have to inquire about it since they don't immediately offer it.

LilGMom is correct - you can't book using a FL Resident rate, but if you want to use the GA Res promotion you will have to wait until (if) they release another neighbor state promotion, like this deal that was offered in August of this year (has now expired):

"Florida Neighbors" Rates - AL, GA, SC and NC Resident Discount Codes
Discounts for states neighboring Florida were offered for a couple of years after 9/11, because of a downturn in travel. No doubt due to the current economic situation, they reappeared in Fall 2008.

No "Florida Neighbors" discounts are currently being offered, but they may come back, so watch this space!

Usually yes. The above mentioned neighbor deals may include tickets, but GA residents cannot buy FL resident season passes if that is what you are asking.

These are the official rules:

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.

An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass

One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:

"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.

"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

The following items are the only documents accepted as proof of Florida Residency:
* Valid Florida State Drivers License
* Valid Florida State issued ID Card with Florida Address
* Valid Florida Voter’s Registration Card with the Guest's name and address with corresponding photo ID
* Valid Florida University / College Student ID
* Valid Military ID stationed at one of the Florida Military Bases listed below:

As others have stated, they may have special lodging rates for specific state residents, but there is no program for special ticket prices.
