I know you miss a majority of the queue if you take the single riders line, but if I wanted to go back for seconds, how much of a difference is there typically between the singles and regular line?

The singles line puts you right before the sorting hat.

I'm sorry for not clarifying. I meant ratio wise, on average how much longer wait wise is the line for singles versus regular?

Of course the SR queue is shorter than the main queue. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes in SR, but I have heard from others--during crazy peak times such as Christmas week, for instance--that it can be longer.

I don't think I've ever seen the posted time for the main queue less than 45, although it is not unusual to actually be less.

The Castle Tour queue is a third option in which you get to see mostly the same elements of the main queue, but without the option to ride FJ at the end.

The singles line is usually 5-10 minutes long.

Yep, 5-10 minutes even when the regular line is 2 hours long! :cool2:

Be sure to ask. It is really easy to miss.

Average is about ten minutes for me, although I've seen it as long as half an hour or more during really busy times or if the ride breaks down.

As PP's mentioned, it varies. Our experience was regular line was 45-90 min. depending on time of day. Single rider was 5-15 min.

Usually the biggest wait for single riders is getting through the bag line. Tip...stow your bags at Dragons and run to FJ.

When we were there last the regular line was 60-75 minutes and the single riders were pretty much walking right on.

I used the singles line in summer and never waited more than 10 minutes, now on my last trip in February I tried to get in the singles line and the line was at the stairs when you first enter the singles line.I chose not to wait as I never saw it that far back before. Can anybody who rides Forbidden Journey singles regularly tell me how long the wait would have been from that far back.

Don't know the answer but WOW! I was there late August/early Sept, mid Oct, and early Dec and never waited in SR more than 5-10 minutes.

Where is the single rider line start/entry? When we went during the first week of January...very, very busy...we waited about an hour to get into Harry Potter world, then waited another 1 hour 45 minutes to get into the ride. Huge line outside, then hit the locker area, then the in and out lines before going into the castle. I feel we obviously took the "long" way to get to the ride. So I really want to find this single rider line for when we venture back next week....thanks!!

I think I remember them saying single riders "up the stairs" ?? :confused3 Would that make any sense? It was just after you entered right past the lockers when I think they divide up and go a different way. I do remember the single rider line "met up" with the regular line (side by side) in Dumbledore's office and they don't weave through the snow room.

the stairs are on the far left for the FJ single riders.
there might be a sign stating 'single riders'.

a few times i did see that sign rest of the time it was not there.

the lockers are on the right opposite.

i went solo last year and did FJ many times in the single line.
it was great.

earlier in the morning, i did go the complete route to get to the ride.
you would hate to miss out on that as it does make a complete story for FJ.

As you come out of the locker room, try to get to the left side of the crowd and you should see the stairs off to the left. There is usually a rope there with a gap in it and probably a CM telling everyone that all bags must go in the lockers. Sometimes there's a sign there, but alot of times there's not. It's easy to miss. If you don't have to go in the locker area, an easier way to get to it, is as you are walking up toward the castle go to the left where people with no bags go and before you enter the castle you will see a gap in the rocks. Go in there and at the end you will see a wooden door. Go in that door and the base of the stairs is right there.

Thank you! It was a mess when we were there. We waited in a long line that double looped outside then finally got to the entrance where the "are you tall enough to ride" sign was. The lockers were a mad house...thought we were in the clear after that then seen the lines weave in and out and all around before actually entering the ride area...ugh. Love it once we actually got there though.

This past Monday I walked right on the ride in the single riders line. The regular line was about 30 minutes. During president's week the regular line was 75 minutes or longer. Monday, after most people had headed home, there was a HUGE difference in crowds at HP and for FJ. (many New England states had vacation week last week)

Went yesterday... bypassed the long line due to the fact we had no bags, seen the single rider line (roped off but cm opened it up for us when asked
) no one in front of us...walked right on to the ride :)!!! Single rider is not so much a big deal since during the ride you basically can not talk or interact with anyone since your seat in kinda of closed off to anyone else. Thanks for the advice!

Stood in the regular line one time with DD and Dneice to see the inside of the castle and get the full effect. After that, we were all perfectly happy to go in the singles line. So much quicker. Also, we travel light...no bag to store for ANY ride. That's a big time saver too!
