Anyone know what makes the sound work in televisions?

A certain very bad cat who's name rhymes with 'psycho' thought the TV would look better on the floor than on the 5-foot high dresser in our bedroom. The case has two small cracks, the picture works just fine, but the sound is all gone.

Does the sound come from wires that can easily be replaced/fixed? Or does it come from somewhere more major that won't be cheap to fix? Can we fix it ourselves? Or hand it over to professionals?

It depends.

Are you running cable through the TV? How about a VCR, DVD, Home Theater, Surround Sound, etc? Is there a mute button on the front of the set, that it may have landed on when it fell? What brand/model is it? You can PM if you want. I work for an A/V retailer, and have some service experience, so if you give me a little more to go on, I can prolly point you in the right direction.

Good Luck, and glad your furbaby was just naughty, and not squished!
