Fixed Week v. Traditional Points-New Option

Turns out I did have an older Guaranteed Weeks chart for Aulani:

Based upon my spot checking, it does seem to confirm that the Guaranteed Weeks values are 10% higher.

Week 10 (Mar 4 arrival) in SV 1B: 339 pts guaranteed, 309 per chart
Week 1 (Jan 1) Ocean View 2B: 655 pts guaranteed, 595 per chart
Week 47 (Nov 18) Island Studio: 191 pts guaranteed, 174 per chart

Those are just 3 I picked at random.

That said, I also had a note indicating that the per-point cost for a GW was 10% higher. So we may both be right--they get buyers coming and going.

I'll try to confirm if they are actually charging 10% more per point, or if it's just the extra points GW buyers are required to purchase.

Well, after several phone calls across the past three days, my fixed-week contract has been finalized.

According to my guide, my contract will be deeded for the fixed-week value of the points, not the point chart value. Moreover, I will pay dues on the fixed-week value.

So, the way I understand it, if I use my fixed-week every year, then I paid a 10% upcharge to secure it. Alternatively, if I elect not to use my fixed weeks and use my points to book another time or elsewhere, then I would have overpaid for my points.
