Five Immutable Facts

I was just reading through a book on Google books [LINK]. It was pointed out to me as a source of the most succinct description of reality.

Five immutable facts....

1. Everything changes and ends.
2. Things do not always go according to plan.
3. Life is not always fair.
4. Pain is part of life.
5. People are not loving and loyal all the time.

Very cool. The explanation of just about everything important derives, indeed, from at least one of those facts.

yes, but a rather negative outlook on life.....each could be restated to be more positive, and still be true

Interesting challenge:

1. Everything changes and ends. (Not necessarily bad.)
2. Things sometimes go according to plan.
3. Life is sometimes fair.
4. Pain is part of life. (Remarkably, not necessarily bad.)
5. People are loving and loyal sometimes.

Voila!

LOL, how about "the majority of the time" or at least "often"

I have seen that book and it is on the list of books to read. I try to keep the serenity prayer in mind when going through life. I accept what I can not change and change what I can not accept.

I guess it is all in how you read it, I take those to be pretty positive, like, plans change, big deal, move on. To me that is a positive. The negative for me would be, plans change, that stinks, why does that always happen to me?

yes, but a more positive (and often true) take on it is that the world often has something better for us than we planned if we are open to the possibilities, stay patient and work hard.

I kinda like it as is....When I read it I looked at how the statements have made positives in my life. I guess it's how you read it.
