Fitting in Seven dwarfs mine train

My wife and I are larger in size, I am 6' and weigh 290ish(trying to lose weight) and I won't disclose my wife's size. We both rode it twice at the 24 hour event. Snug in the area of my leggs. but not painful.

Thank you, that's good information to help people make a decision.

Mesa - if you read the thread I linked to the MagicWDW site you will see there are in fact people being turned away when they couldn't fit in the seats.

The guy who started the thread over there was one of them and a "white shirt" admitted to him that they have a problem.

:thumbsup2

Sounds like it might be where you have the extra padding:

We rode it over the weekend- my boyfriend is a rather big guy hes 300lbs with thick legs he's an ex football player he managed to get in and was able to bring the bar down but the CMs made him force the bar down further then it was it was a very unpleasant experience there were about 4 other adults on the train with us that were directed off because they did not fit

I guess is the sort of thing you get when you put 7 dwarfs in charge of a ride. ;)

DH & I are both pooh sized. Will be interesting to see how/if we fit next weekend. We can ride everything else without a problem but DH is now really worried about his legs. He is another with that a big football player build who has huge thick legs. His shoulders (not an issue on this ride) are so wide he can't do any rides with shoulder harnesses at any place other than WDW. He is going to be really bummed if he can't ride.

It is the lap bar that is the real problem. If it was a single bar across like big thunder there would be little issue. It is the solo lap bar and the fitted seat area that imagineering screwed up.

On the other hand, I'm so glad the Main Train uses a double lap bar instead of a single like Big Thunder. I love Big Thunder (it's my favorite ride), but it's kind of nerve wracking to ride with a person bigger than you, because it creates a huge gap between you and the lap bar. My husband has to hold me the entire ride or I go sliding across the seat. Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but I prefer having my own harness, even on a tamer ride like the Mine Train.

You aren't going to fall out of big thunder. Or really any of the rides. You'd have to try to fall out on purpose.

Easywdw just posted this pic on twitter of the leg situation. p good reference.

I'm hoping my legs won't bang into the bar like what sometimes happens on the backwards part of EE.

There is no bar to bang into. Your legs will be secure between the lapbar (varying levels from loose to never coming out again) and the handbar is up top that you can lean forward and hold or not.

Can someone who has been on give an approximate measure of how many inches riders have to squeeze their legs between the lap bar?

I have a FP for tomorrow morning and I'm going to bring a tape measure so I will post back tomorrow night with exact measurements.
