fitness center age?

Is the fitness center for adults only, and if so, are they really strict about it?
My high school track running kid would like to make use of the treadmills if possible.

It is listed as "Adult Exclusive" but also notes:

For sailings originating in the United States, Guests between the ages of 14 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian to enter the Fitness Center. For sailings originating in the United Kingdom, use of the Fitness Center is restricted to adults 18 years of age and older.​

As stated above, kids between ages 14 and 17 can use the Fitness Center with parent supervision and they are strict about it. My high school runner would not have been able to get in if my wife or I did not accompany her.

I dealt with this when we cruised , as our son was a High School Baseball player. In those days on the Magic, the Kids Club was supposed to have a time set aside every day for those under 18. In reality, there was only one, one hour time during a seven day cruise.
The restrictions do seem odd to me on a cruise line that markets to families. But looking a gyms at home these days, more and more don't allow anyone under 18 to workout without an adult with them. I guess there are legal liability issues, and they also apparently had problems with behavior with unsupervised minors.

But the prior statement also stated that it was 18+, full stop if it was a UK sailing. Not sure if this is a UK cruise in their situation.

We're back from our cruise, it was out of PC to the Caribbean, and yes, our teen was able to use the fitness center with us no problem.
