I called to make a reservation for a Saturday night pre sailing, & was told they only take reservations for parties of 12 or more. She did say we could call when we were heading there & put our names on the list. Has this been anyone else's experience? :drive:

We were a group of 4 and had no problem walking in on a Saturday night in July. We may have gone on the early side - 5:30 or 6? - but we were seated right away and given our choice of where we wanted to eat (downstairs, upstairs, outside).

Ive talked to the different rest over there for large parties before, and have been told everything from we dont take reservations on weekends, to no reservations at all. To me it should be a no brainer that someone says Im coming with a party of 30, (weve done that before) that someone would say, well hold a few tables for you at what ever time. Weve never had an issue though with simply walking up and getting seats. We did it in Oct there was about 15 of us that went there pre cruise, and there was plenty of seats to go around even with our reserved tables.

Same thing at Rusty's and Grills. Personally, we've avoided Fishlips due to its disgusting name. :crazy2::eek:

I have only been to Rusty's. Never had to wait for a table. I have been there at various times of the day.

We ate there last March before our Easter cruise. We showed up at 6 and it was already packed. We found a table near the bar after waiting for 20 minutes or so (exhausted at this point after driving all day). Service was poor, food was so so and I froze to death because they had the door to the balcony open. I'm not sure I get the hype.

A group of us (around 20) ate at Fishlips in October, before our Fantasy cruise. While we had no problem getting a reservation, our experience was similar to the previous poster. Service wasn't that great, food was edible but not great and it seemed very over-priced for what we had. Having said that, I'm not sure that any of the others are any better. If we were going to eat at the port again, though, we would try Grills next time. They don't take reservations either though.

Sorry but did you eat at Fish lips, Rusty's or Grill's? I have never been to any of these places and am staying in cocoa beach 3 miles from the port the night before the cruise (we have also never stayed in a hotel the night before) and am wondering where a good place for a group of 12 ages ranging from 1 1/2 to 62y/o should dine on Friday night if we arrive in enough time to go out to eat (we are driving to FL from NY for the 1st time)?

The Sandbar which is on the beach and near the Ron Jon Surf Shop is a fun place.

Sorry!!!

Fishlips.

We were a group of 4 (me, my mom, my DD (9) and my DS (8)). We stayed at the RI and just needed some food after driving all day. Wasn't the best way to start our vacation.

I prefer Grills

more of their food is grilled vs fried

but this is still a beer in a plastic cup kinda place ....

altho Grill's full dinners are actually quite nice IMO.

here's the menu with prices:

wanna step it up a bit? Milliken's at the west end of the port is a step up from the trilogy . . . but you'll pay for it ...

I don't know if MLK's takes ressies ... never tried and their web page doesn't say. (Frankly, I don't eat there ... when I want to go more upscale than Grills, MK is not on my list ..... just my opinion)

We ate at fish lips both before and after our cruise. Enjoyed it both times and never had problems getting a table. Would definitely recommend it. Kids enjoyed it too.
