Fishing Places around the Fort

My 8 year old is a avid fisherman. All he wants to do is fish he could sit and fish all day.
Anyway are there any other places around the fort that are good for fishing? Any state parks? We will have a car so getting around should be easy. Do we need a fishing license?

My 11 year old caught a few bass in the canal leading into the pool area behind the 1500 loop. Artificial worms. Shouldn't be too hard..just stay away from all the boat traffic in the lake.

I like to send people to the canal behind loop 300, also where the canal at 300 meets the lake .
But to be honest, just about any water at the Fort has fish. We just got back from a 2 week stay,,there was (I swear) a big drainage ditch hehind our site,, we caught bass and bream/sunfish out of it,
I use white rooster tail lures often and live night crawlers. DO NOT buy WORMS from Disney ,,they are not magical !!! They will catch the same fish that you can catch with worms from Wal-Mart. And for less than 1/2 the price !

Thanks for the replies! My DH is taking him to wallyworld today to see if he can find the roster tail lures.
