Does anyone know what the fishing regulations are on property at WDW? (Obviously C&R) I see all of the small ponds, and I really want to throw a lure in there. I have seen lots of panfish and some bass in the lake at Epcot. I'm sure that there must be some other fishing crazies out there that have pulled some bass in. :teacher:

The official fishing trip charters are on the expensive side so I haven't gone on one. It is about the same cost as any charter. It is all catch and release. I have fished in the canals in Fort Wilderness campground we caught alot of panfish but no largemouth. You can also fish from the dock in Port Orleans Resort. You can rent gear at the bait shops but I bring my own and there was no charge for the canal and dock fishing. Now it seems that they are charging a fee for the dock time. No license was required. Heres a link to the charges.

On site fishing

There arealso tons of guide services in the Orlando area if you want to fish off-site but you may have to buy a FLA license.

We did a fishing excursion this trip it was great. caught around 10 largemouth. You can try to post on the boards and see if you can get others to go and split the cost.

We went on a guided fishing tour in Nov, and Disney waterways are all private, so technically you need permission to fish there. That being said, our guide told us that he's seen many people fish off the shore and he has yet to see someone tell them not to! :) His best advice was to go very early in the AM, before there is a lot of boat traffic :)

I was going to ask the same question about the "beach" at WL! My DH is a fishing NUT. We even had to fish on our honeymoon.

Since the lake is "no swimming", I was wondering if it was okay to catch and release. Although, maybe I don't wanna know...

DH went on the guided trip this summer and he was told that no one could fish on property without a guide. Whether they would tell you to stop or not-I don't know. THat's just the official line. Good luck! He had a great time on his trip and caught some good fish over by the Poly

I am going with my wife jan 20-25. I would be interested in booking/joining a fishing trip. if someone wants to cost share with me.
