Dbf and I are planning our trip for June 25-July 10. He really wants to do a fishing excursion. I've read about the different locations and know about the pricing, etc. but was wondering what location people prefer...World Showcase/Crescent Lake or Seven Seas Lagoon/Bay Lake?? Also how far out can I make a reservation for a fishing excursion (180, 90?) TIA

DH and I did our excursion at DTD, but I originally tried to book for Bay Lake... the person who booked it assurred us that "all of the waterways" are connected (It was our first trip to Disney World, and silly me - i assumed she knew what she was talking about!)

Anyway, we had a great time - ask for Robert - he was great! Just make sure you specify where you want to fish out of!!! (Robert gave us a discount on our trip, as we didn't get what we originally asked for)

Bay Lake, I hear, has more fish... :)

Have fun!!! :goodvibes

Our guide said the Seven Seas Lagoon had the most fish. The record fish caught by a guest came from Downtown Disney.

We caught a lot of fish in SSL. We watched people NOT catching fish around the International Gateway.

You must take the first excursion of the morning if you want to catch a lot of fish. Leave from the Poly. Ask for the woman guide, Carrie.

Bay Lake/Seven Seas is definitely the best, just cause it's the biggest. It doesn't make a difference which resort you leave out of, just go with whichever is easiest for you. The guides all work out of Fort Wilderness and they go do pick ups all over the two lakes. At some point, they stop you by the Fort because that's where payment is taken care of, regardless of where you were picked up.

We have done excursions from the Boardwalk/Yacht Club marine and from Wilderness Lodge in the past and on our trip last month we did two excursions - one from each. My husband prefers Bay Lake - generally more fish. I like both - the early BW/YC trip goes into World Showcase, which is fun (and allows for some good pictures) and Bay Lake is very peaceful. We stayed at BWI, so did the 7am from the BW (so as not to have to get up too early) and then did a 10am from WL - not on the same day of course :rotfl2:. The fishing excursions are always one of the highlights of our trips.

We've been planning for a fishing excursion on our next trip, so thanks for all the great info. everyone. :)

Thanks for all the info. I think we'll go with SSL/Bay Lake. Anyone how far in advance I can book it?

We have taken the fishing excursion out of both Poly and WL docks and loved it. I would buy the live bait though. We never caught a decent fish until the year we did.

Just a tid bit of trivia... Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon is one of the top places in the country to fish.

My husband has done fishing excursions twice. Both on Bay lake. Lasy Year he and my Dad went and the two of them caught 61 fish in their 2 hour trip. This year he took our oldest son for some one on one "manly man and son" bonding time. Our son caught the biggest fish of the morning and still talks about how much fun he had.

Both years they have had a guide named Dave who was terrific. He even takes pics of his guests with his own camera and emails them to you. This year they were waiting for us in my husband's email account before they were even back to our room at the Grand Floridian.
