Fishing excursion question? Crescent Lake

I went with my brother-in-law on a fishing excursion several years ago out of the Wilderness Lodge. The fishing was really good even though was a bit chilly that morning (early December) but we had a great time and caught lots of fish. We are taking family members down again (including my brother-in-law) on this trip and I am thinking of booking another fishing excursion. We will be staying at Boardwalk. My question is how is the fishing? Crescent Lake and the canal to Disney's Hollywood Studios seems kind of small, so I was wondering if they venture into World Showcase Lagoon even if the park is closed in the morning.

Having taken many early morning runs around Crescent Lake, I can say that I have never seen any fishing boats in World Showcase Lagoon. I've seen plenty of fishing boats hanging around all of the docks, especially the dock at DHS. There's also an area of shallow reeds that seem to be teeming with bass. Last trip, I saw a guy land a 5 pounder in the rain right near DHS!

Unless they have changed where they fish we were taken into WS, Crescent Lake, and all the way into the channel going to DHS. It just depends on the guides that you get. I think between myself, my dad, FIL, and DS who was only about 3 at the time we caught about 25 bass in the two hours we were out.

It's pricey but I think you'll still have a good time. One thing to mention, I believe you have to go over to the YC marina to catch the fishing excursion. I mention this because you said you were staying at BW.

It would be a real bonus to get on WSL before Epcot even opens. I would like to book an early excursion.

dH had 4 days of excellent fishing in just those areas. 9/2011. If u want, send me ur email, I'll send pics. 8-9 pound large mouth....many of them. Caught a few turtles too...doing 9 days of fishing 9/2012....
