Fishing charters

I'm not sure that this is the right board for this question or not.

We are going to WDW in Jan (25-31) and the guys are interested in doing the bass fishing excursion. Does anyone know if you have to pre book that??
Has anyone done it and is it worth it?? Where is the best location to do so, I think that I read somewhere that the Epcot locations are the best, and we are staying at SSR.
