fishing at VB

Is surf fishing allowed at VB resort? If allowed, how is the fishing, say early May?

Yes, all beaches in FL are public, so you can surf cast at the resort. Also, across the street there are ponds on the DVB property were catch & release is permitted. Sorry, can't help you with the quality at that time of year.
