Has anyone ever done the "Cane Pole Fishin" at POR? Disney practically guarantees everyone catches a fish. Thought it would be fun for my kids. :cool1:

We've done it. They use real worms so keep that in mind. And the stocked fish will probably be biting (especially if there wasn't a crowd before you). Keep in mind that with any kind of fishing, especially pole, you should flick the pole up as soon as you feel a nibble to set the hook. Otherwise the fish dine and dash...

How much does the cane pole fishing cost?

This from the DIS POR page...
"You can fish for bluegill and perch at the Ol’ Man Island Fishin' Hole (a fully stocked catch and release pond) between the hours of 7:00 am and 2:30 pm. You can rent individual cane poles for $4.26 per half hour or you can choose the Family cane pole fishing adventure, for up to 6 people that costs $13.32 per half hour."

Didn't have time to try it ourselves, so can't give you any further on it. :surfweb:

Thanks for that info. I will certainly grab myself a mango margaritta from the muddy waters bar and pull up a seat :)

We did it in June 05....It was hot and the fish weren't interested. We wouldn't do it again.....
