Fish Extenders for the Podcast Cruise

I am going to take a leap here and assume (yes, I know ) that someone, Gibson(?) will be providing us all with a downloadable list of who is participating , cabin #s, # of adults, and kids with their ages. Assuming that is the case (yes, once again, I know), I was wondering if it would be possible to know who all is on their first cruise to include the kids. For example, it is not Corey's and Julie's first crusie, but it is Ferris's first.

I think the potential for neat "first cruise" gifts is unlimited and would make for a nice keepsake for the recipients. Anyway, just a thought...

We have 1 family in our room, 2 adults and 1 14 yo dd. On our first cruise.

Well, if I remember correctly, there is an assortment of duckies...the more people get the more of a complete set they will end up with.

I have a time consuming gift idea, so I was going to do one per couple for adults(you only need one per family) but realized I have no idea who is with who in the head count for adults. Anybody with kids- I tried to estimate and tally on a piece of paper but it ended up like the episode of Curious George where he's counting stars. So...if anybody has more than one family in their room, please let me know so that I can see if my crazy idea is do-able or not. I only have four months. And no, I am not building each of you your own life raft.

So I went to JoAnn Fabrics again tonight. Spent almost an hour and a half there. I took my note pad so I could keep all the info organized. There was a lovely woman at the fabric cutting counter that was thrilled to help. Having last touched a sewing machine in high school, I was slightly intimidated. Alright I was very intimidated. What was I doing stepping up to the big leagues? She quickly calmed my qualms and told me that's what she was there for. I had brought along my mock-up and explained (within limits of course, I didn't want to sound weirder than I already was) what I was doing. After a short discussion, we decided my plan could come to fruition without needle and thread. I now just have to figure out a color scheme.

I don't have OCD. I have CDO....its like OCD, but all the letters are in alphabetical order. Like they should be.

This is the reason I don't buy Christmas presents until Christmas Eve. If I don't wait everyone knows what they are getting.

Jen has the list on Excel. You can also cross reference the list to the list on the main cruise thread to figure out a lot of the first time cruisers.

I am a little afraid of someone having the same idea as me. I am trying to think of something nice that won't take up a lot of space.

Seriously? Does this mean there are 24 days to sign up for the FEs or something else? Sorry. I don't visit the cruise threads as often as I should. No telling what info I'm missing out on. If it means 24 days for FE sign-up then I'm just gonna wait and until then to get my stuff! The only reason I've put it off is 'cause I don't know how much to get. Don't want to be short and don't want to waste $$ on excess.

The official last day to sign up for Fish Extenders for the Podcast cruise is January 31st.

I hear you on the buying stuff, but I would like to get a rough estimate..and since somebody already has it in Excel and can get a number with a quick click..it would save me from finding the calculator in Windows.

If you are sharing a stateroom with someone other than your family, is your roommate also participating in the FE exchange? Please discuss with your roommate and have them add themselves to the list.

I would hate to give a gift to the wrong person or only 1 if there were 2 of you in the room.

Since I am one of said people, I will step up first. I do not know if my cabin mate will be participating in the FE. I will e-mail him promptly and report back any/all findings.
If he isn't participating, then he is getting all the duplicate ducks!
