Is there a good counter service that serves Fish and Chips?

Yes, in Epcot's United Kingdom area. It's right next to the Rose Crown & Pub on the main walkway. It's a favorite of ours!

Having visited the UK for real all I can really say is that the fish and chips at Epcot are a poor imitation of the real thing. The closest we have found to the real thing has been at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney.

My DH doesn't run, he's not a runner, and never moves fast for anything.

He actually RAN to the fish and chips stand as soon it was in eyesight! :rotfl2:

We love it and have spoken with many Brits on vacation in WDW that have told us it's pretty darn close to authentic.

I prefer the fish and chips at Cooke's of Dublin in DTD. It is the fast food service next to Raglan Road. I think the ones at Epcot are just so-so.

Although I thought the fish was fine, the chips were woefully underdone. Like they were too busy to finish cooking them, a real yuck.

Okay I have a silly question. Does the fish have the silver scales still in them? I know they don't taste like anything, but for some reason I can't stomach to see it when I'm eating it :rotfl:

I also am looking for a CS meal at epcot and my husband would like this. I would too if there's no scales!

EPCOT--I love the CS Fish and Chips (with the Malted Vinegar)
in England World Showcase.
It's so funny because the Brits call French Fries (Chips) and
the Potato Chips (Crisp).
I had a Brit standing in line behind me one visit and he says
that this Company is everywhere in the UK and that it was
the same fish and chips that they serve over there.
They are very good--I'm hungry now.:rotfl2:

you can also get fried fish and fries (not really british fish n chips) at Columbia Harbour house in Magic Kingdom (near the Haunted Mansion)

Few things top fish and chips with a pint of Bass while in WS:thumbsup2

The silver you see on the fish is actually the skin of the fish. If scales were still on it, it would not be etible.

I have eaten the fish and chips in the Rose and Crown. They don't even come close to those I used to eat in Canada. Which I would think would be closer to true English fish and chips than those at epcot.

The best I have had were from a double decker buss where they threw the ships in to a cone of newspaper and then put the fish on top. Lots of vinegar and salt was added.

The fish and chips quick serve in EPCOT UK are horrible.

Your best bet would be Raglan Road.

i can vouch for cookes of dublin in dtd, we went and were very pleasantly surprised so much so we went back again

DH had the fish/chips at the CS in england last week - twice, and said they were ok - oh, and he didn't share any with me, so i'm guessing they really were pretty good...

The fish & chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK at Epcot are very good- better than other places at WDW. We have been eating them for years, and they are amongst the better things to eat at WDW. I have also been to England a few times, and the fish and chips there are not all identical- there's good and bad places. Comparing the food at a theme park restaurant in central Florida to those found in a foreign country seems a bit odd to me.

Mmmmm...Fish and Chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop!

Okay, if the Yorkshire County Fish Shop isn't very good, then why am I always surrounded by British accents when I'm in line? Has Disney become so detail oriented that they now dispatch cast members to wait in line?

:confused3

I love Fish and Chips but I've never had them in England so, I can't compare. I did grow up on the West Coast just a little south of San Francisco is a town called Pacifica. Anyways... we use to get Fish and Chips in newpapers from little stands on the sides of the road. I don't think they are there any more. Anyways... I moved to Central California but the fish isn't really fresh here. One year dh and I went to Alaska and Victoria for vacation. I had some really good Fish and Chips in Sitka made by my cousin's friend. YUMMY.... Then, in Victoria we went to this little stand by the wharf. Omgosh... it was the best I've had....

Anyways... the Fish & Chips at Yorkshire is just okay. I've had better. I do like the Fish and Chips in the sitdown restaurant better (Rose and Crown). On our next trip... I think, we'll have to try the ones at DTD. The Fish & Chips at Yorkshire are just made with a poor grade of fish. You could tell in the restaurant they were much better. But I'm still dreaming of the ones in Victoria...

When on vacation people tend to go for what they are comfortable with. Those standing in line may have never had the fish and chips from there, so they don't know how good or bad they are. They just know it is supposed to be like home.
