Fish and Chips

I'm assuming they're seasonal but I'm hoping you'll tell me they're open all year. I live about an hour from there, which means I know very well NOT to go this time of year. But there seems to be virtually no restaurant in southern Maine where I can eat fish & chips because restaurants usually use the same oil to fry shellfish... I'd love a place that makes ONLY haddock!

They are seasonal. Usually open till mid-October. Only does lunch (11:00-2:00, Tuesday - Friday). She's on Rte 27 before you get to town -- right across from the Boothbay Common. Thursdays are good if you are planning a trip since the Boothbay Farmer's market is on the Common that day. Definitely plan to hit up Bet's early -- she sells out some days. Worth the trip!

It's a regular staple at bars and pubs across the US, but it's rare to find a standalone fish n chips stand. Maybe in seaside towns, like on the NJ boardwalks. But those places will also have chicken tenders and some other fried foods.
